I am a sucker for vintage amps and PA's. Never seen an Ovation.

I have been searching online but find no info about this system.

Anyone?

Very under-rated (really.. an Ovation product that's under-rated?).

The "Dual Action system" consisted of:

K-6151-A Speaker containing 4 x 12" Audient Speakers and a K-6100 power amp
K-7151-A Speaker containing 4 x 12" Audient Speakers
K-5051-B Preamplifier with 2 channels (one for voice and one for Guitar)
K-9610    Pre-Amp stand which doesn't seem to be there, but it was like a a-frame stand for the pre-amp.

A note on the Pre-amp...  There were a couple-three versions of this head.  Basically each leaning toward guitar or bass/keys with the only real difference being the tone the tuner sent out.  E for guitar, or G for keys.

FWIW, these were not "budget" systems back in the day.  In 1978, which was actually the previous version of this system(but the only price list I have handy at the moment) the powers column was $400, the non-powered $250 and the pre-amp $375.  Think about that.  This system was basically geared toward what we refer to today as the singer/songwriter or coffee-house solo act.  You have to be pretty serious today in 2015 spend over a grand on a PA system for yourself... this was out in the late 70's.

I really need to spend a day sometime visiting Miles and his boat house. He's the absolute Ovation electric geek.

My "Li'l Dude" is a combo amp and is far from little. It probably weighs over 50 pounds and was a bear to get up the stairs to my guitar room. I can't imagine hauling those amps around to a gig. I guess in the 60s, a little amp meant something much different from the little amps I have now.

You are always welcome... I am getting ready to start restore/repair on any that need it. I have one guitar to finish up, and a few other chores, then I'll be going through them all. Several of them are in fine playing shape, but a few need some cleaning, or minor repair. Anyway... I may end up putting you to work. They all have to be tested ya know..
