Anyone else carry a pick in their pocket for no reason? I do it all the time...almost like it's spare change. At the end of the day, I wonder why I carried it all day and why I keep doing it.

I always carry a pick, usually more than one. But I play on the corner a lot.

Back in the 70's, before I played guitar, I always had picks in that little jeans pocket.
Back then there were many music stores in Boston (on Mass. Ave) that gave away free picks...
I rarely went into any of those stores but somehow ended-up with one-or-three in my pocket.
It seem that in those days most of those picks were the Tortoise-shell, breakable kind.
So when the musician said, "Damn! Does anyone have a pick?" I had one.
All good hippies carried guitar picks.

My preferred pick holder....

She's who I would need when I seem to be losing LOTS and LOTS of picks, for unknown reasons.

I keep a bunch of picks in my pocket at all times and I NEVER use a pick myself. (Nails only) But when a customer comes in to try a guitar I always have a pick of whatever thickness they prefer to hand them.

I carried one for a while, just because it happened to be in with my change. Took it out every night and put it back in the next morning. Habit. Then I got tired of having to take the change out of my pocket every time I went through a security scanner, so I just left it and the pick at home in my "pocket change" dish. My wife decided I wasn't using the change, so she took it and left the pick. Finally, I put it back up in the guitar room with the rest of my picks.

It has been at times, but at least I wasn't emptying my pockets before a cavity search.

I always carry a pick in my right side pocket except for when I go into a music store like yesterday and than realize that I took it out and put it in the council of my car. That's OK because when I went into the acoustic room to putz there was one of the employees in there finger picking songs like classical gas so I just humbly listened to him and was awed. GWB

Eynowd - I carry one in my wallet.

I like Damon's "preferred pick holder" better... but I seriously doubt one of those is within my budget.

I can't think of anything pc to add to this....

I carry a pick, things went horribly wrong when I tried a bow.

I punch a hole in a few and thread them onto my keyring.

Well...I'm just glad to see I'm not the only crazy one out there! Now I know I should carry a couple different Picks...and put them in that tiny little pocket (a great idea since I never knew what that pocket was for). I'm 56 and it feels good to get a little bit smarter every day. It's possible I may have skipped a couple days (or weeks during my teen years) but it feels good to know I'm smarter today than at any time in my life. Now if I could just remember where I put my wallet, keys and phone!

In the old days....that pocket was for a pocket watch.

So if you use it for a pocket watch now, then you'll need to upgrade to damon's solution for your picks.

That's quite an upgrade! Unfortunately, I'm not sure I can afford it because it looks like it would cost me my house and truck in the divorce. But it would be quite an upgrade over what I'm doing now!

For some reason, Damon didn't shoot pictures of that pick upgrade on the "red blanket"?
