Location: Yorkshire, England | I have brought this up in another link, but I just wondered what everyone else thought about a revival of the solid body electric range now that Fender have supposedly taken over Kamen. Many is the time I have thought about putting a Stratocaster neck on a Breadwinner or Deacon body. (Not that it needed it - It was one of the Breadwinners best aspects.) How long also, before the Fender influence filters through the present Ovation range ? |

It took them about a year as I recall. For instance, Tacoma used to make a fine mandolin. Now no more. (If I'm wrong correct me). To my knowledge they haven't added any new offerings, and I guess it's been two years now. Though tacoma is also making guild's. There is no evidence of cross polinization. Possible resurrection of old models, but very unlikely that there will be "filtering". It would diminish the brand. The guy who runs Fender seems to be pretty savvy. But really who knows, you really should be asking the amazing karnac, because I don't even think the president of fender at this point knows. |

Location: GA USA | We have a member named Deaconstrat, who refit his Deacon with new pickups and a 5-way strat pu selector. It's in his gallery. I guess he was ahead of his time. |

I actually don't look half-bad. |

| Who cares what electrics Fender makes, they've never produced a 24-fret neck like my original Deacon. Plays like butter. Fender wishes their strats and teles played that well...screw 'em. |
