Location: Latitude 39.56819, Longitude -105.080066 | After over a year of waiting and all kinds of crazy little annoying mishaps, the Twin Baritone 2080's have FINALLY SHIPPED.
The latest unforeseen issue which was finally resolved was that OVATION did not have a hardshell case LARGE ENOUGH for the 2080 baritone 12 string to fit into!!!!!!
Thanks to Gary (local rep) and Rick Hall, all the quirks have been put to bed and they should arrive the first of next week. Now I just need everyone to say a few prayers along with me that the evil UPS will not cause any damage to my babies!
Rick Hall had this to say:

I was just waiting for the Thanksgiving break to put them through the paces and give a review and also take some pics....
For pics, I am thinking the all black 2080's with pewter keys and inlays will look really cool in the snow  |

| Nice, ya beat me to it. I am still having trouble collecting the cash to have Al order me up a Baritone. By the time I get it Fender will make changes to the system.

Location: Latitude 39.56819, Longitude -105.080066 | Mike...nice pics but sorry but no contest.....these twins will blow your mind. I now firmly believe the twins and the #47RI will never leave the harem. All other A's and O's might find other homes but these are here to stay.
Also...my son borrowed my cam when he was in town a couple weeks back and I haven't been able to find it. I have a call into him to ask its whereabouts.
Mike.....you might need to drive out to my house and snap some photos!!!!!! |

And the 12 string has got to be over the top. |

At a recent Seminar I was talking to one of the Luthiers at his booth. we talked about 12 string electrics and he said shorter scale was better because of the overtones. He went on to explain to me that if you eliminate the "G" octave and double the "G" string as well as the "A" and "E" octaves you would have a lot more control.
Just a thought. |

Location: Latitude 39.56819, Longitude -105.080066 | I was afraid that the overtones and harmonics of the baritone 12 might be a bit too much but I have been pleasantly surprised at how strong and yet how clear the sound is.
Hopefully Mike will take them for a test drive and give his opinion of the twins.
Woody....did he have any examples for you to play or listen to? It is indeed food for thought. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Glad you like the 12. As I've said, I don't play much 12 string and my long neck is visiting New Jersey. I'll get it back some day and give it another listen, in the mean time it's better for Clifff to be playing it regularly than to be sitting in the closet.
I used the 2080D last night at the Frickin Mermain and it always gets "great sound" comments from everyone. |
