Location: Michigan | I know that this is a week early but I think most of us know what is going to be on our table Thanksgiving day?
We did this last year but it is always a food adventure to see what other people eat on their Thanksgiving.
For me very traditional Turkey,Dressing ,Mashed Potatos & Gravy with a veggie(undetermined as yet).No bread or cranberry sauce??
or maybe a Prime Rib ??? Ohh choices
For sure falling asleep on the couch half drunk watching football afterwards..
Detroit Lions verses Green Bay Peckers..

Location: Phoenix AZ | OK, you might have to know me to see the wonder in this, but let me explain (sorry so long). I am an avid Arizona State Sun Devils football fan. Not just this year when they are doing well, but even through those 3-7 seasons and fired coaches. Anyway, I have been a season ticket holder since '95. My wife hates football so I go to the games with a bunch of the "guys".
Well, this year ASU has a game on Thanksgiving. It's a big one, vs. USC with plenty on the line. The problem is, I didn't know how to break it to my wife that I wasn't gonna be around for T-giving this year. Btw, it's an evening game but 4-5 hours of pregame tailgating is mandatory. Anyway, I'm really fretting how in the hell I'm gonna tell her. And of course the clock is ticking and the closer it gets to T-giving the bigger the fallout is gonna be from this bombshell.
Soooo, my wife is an RN who just works part time. About 2 weeks ago she comes to me and says that they want her to work on T-giving and get paid double time for it. So what do I think if she works and we celebrate T-giving on Friday instead of Thursday? "Well, honny of course I'm disappointed but we've had plenty of nice T-givings together and maybe it's time to give back to the community and I think that yes you should work and help those who are sick and injured. Don't worry about me."
Sometimes you get lucky. GO DEVILS !!!

She has off this year, so we'll be going to visit family in Portland. I prefer college football to the NFL, except if it conflicts with the Packers. I'm hoping they continue to do well this year. I think it may be Favre's last, but if they self destruct he may be too ashamed to retire. |

I still prefer the old fashioned way in the oven with sweet potato's, dressing, gravy and cranberry sauce. :) |

Lobster. |

Location: Cicero, NY | My grandmother lived very close to ASU and worked there part-time when I was coming out of high school. She very much wanted me to come down, polish my hoop game a little (she had no idea of the virtual light year difference between me and some of the real players there), go to ASU and try to walk on the team. Gram - a beautiful and highly intelligent woman but yet wonderfully blind at the same time. Still look back at that as one of the biggest regrets in my life. Go ASU! |

I was invited over to my friend-from-work's house for Dinner.
And it was fun. We had good food, and I took home a bunch of Turkey.
Tom's son and his girlfriend had To-Furkey.
And No! I didn't even try any!
I seemed to have neglected getting myself in the photo, but I still look the same as I always do.
[If you really care what I look like check my Gallery]
I alway seem to forget to get myself in photos.
I gotta go to work tomorrow, but Tom's says that we ain't doing much.... And getting paid for it!

On a more "Ovation" side of this story, Tom has a Seagull, some kinda woodbox 12-String, and my old Silvertone SG copy.
And he just inherited a 44 year-old Gibson B-25
The only "Ovation" he has ever played was my Korean Balladeer 4861.
So I took over the Rebuilt/Reborn 1115-HB.
He was soundly impressed!
"That thing is Loud!"
Unfortunately, His round belly and the O's belly kinda got in each other's way.
Still, He was Impressed.
He is trying-out his Luthier-skill on a destroyed 1112. He is on his way to conversion. |
