In my estimation, this is the most important thing I learned yesterday, and admittedly it's mostly about myself and my personal feelings on everything that's happening with Ovation.) In May 2014, I made a special trip to New Hartford so I could shake the hands of the people who had been let go and personally thank them for what they had built and how it had come to play a lasting role in my life as a musician. Soon after I left, Ovation USA was shuttered, supposedly for good. It was a tough, TOUGH day! Yesterday, against all odds, I got to see some of them again. And each and every one of them was, well...., genuinely happy. They have a fighting chance to make this work. That is exactly what they have wanted and they are grateful for the opportunity. I am telling you now, I feel truly privileged to have been there and experienced that resurgence of purpose and joy on that little factory floor, in that little town in Connecticut, and in that little group of people who are eager to show what they can do.

I came here about a year ago now, and it was such a sad place. They had closed the Factory, and everyone was so down about it.
It has been so much fun to see the excitement grow and grow on the glimmer of Hope that DW brought, and now it is just full fledged Fun seeing everything happening, and even more than we dared to hope for!!
Life can change so much in such a short span of time, when something good comes into your Life!! |

To say Ovation changed my life is an understatement.
I am humbled and happy to have become a very small part of this community.
So very grateful that a USA company of artisans have been given a shot at doing what they do best. |

| Mrs stonge and I were there to say thanks to our friends in New Hartford who had the guts to try to save Ovation from extinction. We've met a lot of good people at the factory (both artists who create in wood and artists that create in sound), and it was great to see old friends (fans and factory). The hang at Sophia's was great, meeting new friends and catching up with old friends. The icing on the cake was when John B. wandered in only to see the same crowd that was at the factory lol.
Maybe someday I'll get to fire up the grill for a couple dozen post-tour burgers. Looking forward to that day (and handing Damon a couple of Hamers to try lol). |

Stonge, it was great meeting you and Mrs Stonge over grinders. Great choice Al. I would have never picked it not knowing.
And Patrick, that guitar sure was a stunner.
It was wonderful seeing friends and making new ones. Even the townies I hung out with at Chatterly's were awesome.
I'm looking forward to a return trip... or 3

If Damon gets loose in your basement we'll never see him again....
