Location: us | Hello all,
I have an legend 1777 lx I've been playing for about 7 years now. It's U.S. made. I have always wanted the custom legend and recently decided to pull the trigger. I found the 2079 custom legend AX , and want to purchase that one. But..... I now have learned they are made in Korea, .. WOW! What a kick in the n#ts! I really like this guitar though, can you guys tell me if the sound and quality of these Korea ones are as good as my beloved USA lx model? If anyone here has the new custom legend let me know. If the new ones still sound awesome and play well, I'll buy it. No other guitar I want really.
Thanks in advance,
Scott |

Location: Hot Springs, S.D. | Hold out for a USA-made. You might want to put a "looking for" ad in the for sale section here or shop around on the internet. Or perhaps just wait until the new Ovations from New Hartford come to a store near you. Not sure if they plan on making a Custom Legend, but there might just be something else that'll grab you. |

Location: us | Thanks guys, you have been very helpful. And saved me $1100. I am going to see if I can find one of those legend 1769 AD1144's from the ovation website, it says USA made. I like that one also. The natural wood Finnish is nice. Iam also very pleased to hear USA production is back. It seems I bought mine right before USA production stopped, and I picked a good time to purchase my next one. Thanks again all, |

Location: us | Damons, which one would you buy? Only 500.00 difference in price. Probably both sound great, like the red better I think, but would get the 1769 if he had it in natural. |

Location: Jet City | They should have shims. I like black guitars, I like red ones and natural too. I like 'em all. My opinion on the Al DiMeola... It should be black. You either like black or hate it. I like black on stage under lights, and have lights here in the jam pad, so I have lots of black. I have the Al DiMeola in black, and the Custom Elite C2078-LX in black too. The contrast with the abalone is stunning.

Location: us | Couple questions aboutth he 1769. Is the deep bowl awkward to play? Is the A bracing sound projection as loud as the x bracing and is the one at lost art and vintage new? Thanks , |

Hi Wess!
I had the C2079AX, and while a Stunningly Beautiful Guitar, (I LOVE RED too!), it just did not have the depth of sound or soul that my other Custom Legends have. I gave it to my Nephew, so that he would have a good guitar for his first acoustic. Canterbury Strings, 2WheelDrummer and Damon are right!
Dang You Damon!!! I do not normally like black, too many fingerprints, but I swear you could sell a cup of water to the Ocean with your pictures!

Location: moline, illinois | I have mid and deep bowls,l prefer the tone of the deep bowl unplugged, its not a lot deeper but better bass response IMHO and the A-bracing is the best for uniformity of tone across the spectrum.i feel the lx mid bowls tend to be a little mid-rangey,not a bad thing just a different sound.projection wise the ADII is full and powerful.as far as the one at lost art you'll have to contact al for that info. |

Location: us | Lol..Thanks. I can't wait to get it now. Been torturing this 1777 for too long. Weird though, I put it in cart , hit check out button but it just sent an email telling me I purchased it. I think I have to wait for Al to contact me, then pay. Not sure how it works. All I know is the trigger has been pulled..heh...heh. |

You don't have to spend a fortune on the optics and all accessories to go with it! LOL!!!
I think my Ex had stock in Leupold.... he spent more on the optics than the guns sometimes...
Strings are much cheaper! |

Location: us | Went to GC and played one of the rice field ovations and you guys are right. Didn't sound as good as my 1777 legend. These New USA made ovations aren't something you can just snap your fingers and get either. And out of all the different guitar manufacturers that I could just run and buy any model they offer, .......I have to prefer the one that's hardest to acquire. I wonder if it's possible to graft a deep bowl to the back of my D18..lol. |
