Just picked up a 1974 1117 Legend.  Probably overpaid a little, but it has sentimental value -- it was made within a month or so of my 1115 12-string, and at the time I bought that guitar I was on the fence about 6 vs 12.  I know, weird motivation, but it's a sweet sounding guitar.  Goes well with all the others.

Anyway, who made the Ovation tuners back then?  They don't look like Schaller.  Were they Grover?

I've got Nancy's bug for replacing knobs...

In the 60's, the Balladeers had Klusons, the Deluxe Balladeers had Grovers. In the 70's and 80's, I believe they were Schallers, made for Ovation, with the Ovation logo on them. In the 90's or thereabouts, they went to Pings (maybe in the 2000's).

The catalogs in the 60's and 70's never specified the manufacturer.....
