Hi folks,

I'm copying my last post from the "For Sale" section, hoping to get more visibility for my question. Beal, can you help me with any insight? -Vin

"Well, you beat me to the punch, Jim. I really enjoyed our time together, and I very much appreciated your gracious hospitality. And those guitars!

I'm making a donation to the OFC as well. Without you folks, I doubt I would have known that the FD14 even existed! It's the perfect guitar for me. I told me wife that if we ever had the money to have a custom built it would have had the FD14's specs. Now that's unnecessary.

That said, I'd love to know what prompted Ovation to do that limited run. Can anyone shed some light on that?"

They made about 55 of them in 2003. Not sure what was the motivation behind it, but the result to me was the best sounding wood topped Ovation I had ever played up to that time. I'm sue you will love it.

Don't call me Sue! I won't even let Johnny Cash say that.
Ok so all that was after my time, I left Aug 20, 1998. After that I don't know.
The folklore was a reintroduction of the Josh White. I would guess this was along those lines.

FD14 is a cedar topped, 12 feet deep bowl. I believe it had a 1 3/4 neck. I think it's really a finger style guitar.
