Location: CT | Got up the nerve? I love when people say this then play a piece like that.. I need to get up the nerve to record a G. When I go past the 3rd fret, it's usually a mistake! :D
That clip sounds really nice. |

Location: Chicago | Thanks, bro. I've been watching our new friend Roman Miroshnichenko. Now there's a player. I never stop feeling insecure about putting my stuff out there (especially an original tune--note all the covers we do). Anyway, hope to finish this piece with Jeff and to post some pics!! |

| If you feel insecure about YOUR playing, the rest of us should sell off all our guitars and form a bowling league. Beautiful job, & great sound. Was that direct, mic'ed, or a combination? |

Glad you are happy.
I look forward to listening to the clip later when I won't be on laptop speakers. Since I have heard your stuff on the GOF website, I can only imagine that it is great! |

Is that pretty heavy on the chorus, or is it just the mp3 compression? |

Location: Chicago | Thanks Brad! I do have a bit of chorusing there but it was changed a bit in the compression... For the sound (at which I suck) I take full responsibility. For the guitar... It's all YOUR GUYS FAULT. I would never have the 1581 without the input. So there! Seriously, it was great advice that saved me from requesting a totally different axe that may have been a problem! Yes, yes, pics pics! |

Location: Chicago | gR8: It was three-way, actually. I used my Yamaha Magistomp (with stero chorus patch) to split the signal: one went "live" through my Fishman Loudbox mic'd by an AKG 2000 (cardiod), the other went direct. The AKG caught a mixture of the amp behind me and the acoustic sound nearest it. I hear now that I should have added a bit of compression after the fact to cut some of the fuzziness and distortion. (I have a Digitech RPx400 guitar modeller/USB interface).
Any recording advice will be VERY welcome |

Location: Poplar Bluff Mo | I have custody of one of Stephens' guitars also. I grabbed his UTE but the 1581-5 is also a great instrumment and I almost bought it. Nice recording. |

By the way: does anyone ACTUALLY use the STEREO JACK on their Adamas? How does it work exactly? How does it sound? I mean three strings out of one amp and three out of the other? Sounds like science fiction. |

Location: Latitude 39.56819, Longitude -105.080066 | Yep...the UTE and the 1581 were definitely two outstanding guitars and some of my favorites....but when you make a promise to trim the herd, hard choices have to be made.
I still have 5-6 really nice ones that I will need to let go shortly (couple of acoustics and a few electrics) and then the promise to my wife will be fulfilled.....and I will still consider myself a lucky guy with the ones that will be left. |

Location: Chicago | I must say that it is great to have feedback from all the connoussieurs, collectors and fantastic players here. Lanaki--coming from a guy who can play rhythm, bass, AND lead simultaneously that is high praise. Stephen--thanks for painfully parting with one of your "children"! |
