Location: Frozen Tundra of Minnesota | I just got my 1769 Nakao Clone back from John at the Mini-Mothership, and HOLY BUCKETS!!!
Their expertise and knowledge is not a fluke or a lucky happenstance! This is the 2nd Guitar I have sent John that has come back better than when I received it!! And this one is my Angel! A one of a kind, top of the line wood top, that developed a horrible crack after being shipped to me! (The dreaded crack-curse!)
She came back to me exactly when John had quoted me, and she looks better, and sounds better than Brand New!
I had John add a Beauty Mark for me, I wanted a carved TRC to match the carved Bridge, just for balance. It is PERECT!!!
DW, get that Custom Que lined up, because I want to add my name for a Custom Ovation made by John and the Boys when they are up and running!!! Please put my name on the List!!!!
And John, THANK YOU!!!!

Thank You Danomyte!!! I am glad you got to see her in person, my pictures are not the best, and she is SO Pretty!
John & The Boys are the BEST - she looks Brand New, and sounds Perfect!!!
It is so Wonderful to know they are there for us, and CARE about each and every piece!!
They follow time schedules, and their prices are very reasonable, you don't have to decide between a repair or throwing out the guitar - you know John can do it, and at a reasonable price! And he is one of the nicest Guys in the World!

Nancy, how did you come across this Nakao clone? When was it built? Perhaps you have already posted on this and I missed it. Wonderful collection, by the way. |

Hi George!
I found it on eBay, a Collector in California was selling it, and I fell in Love with it immediately. Then I went through the archives here and read your post about how Special the Nakao's were, and started corresponding with the Seller. Here is what he told me about it:
"This was made by a luthier that worked at the shop company on his own time before he was laid-off with others like him. I forgot the gentlemen's name though. I did not know about the Nakao until he mentioned it. Like you, I fell in love with it the day I saw it. I like the fact that he installed the newer OP-PRO pre-amp and that it was made in the USA!"
When she was with John, he told me that she is indeed a one of a kind. There is no Serial Number inside either. I just know I fell in love with her as soon as I saw her, and the Seller had posted it being played on YouTube, and I was completely SOLD! LOL!!! I am just Thrilled that John and the Boys were ale to fix her for me, you don't leave a piece like that with a Big, Ugly Crack! Now she is pristine again!! |

| Great to hear. I recently joined the 1537 club and sent it off to CT this week to be refurbished. They haven't even started on it yet and I can't wait to see what they do with it. |

Location: Utah | My 1537 came back with a refinished top and new epaulettes. It looks like a brand new guitar but with a well aged color. The epaulets are the new woods, not the original, and look great. |

| DW Drums is the company that set the standard for all others. DW Drums stands for quality without compromise. I admire what the Lombardi family has accomplished and believe that Ovation will get reveal the same "commitment to excellence". |

Will do. It's been evaluated and priced, and promised to be "almost like new" when it comes back in a month or so. Mine will also get the new style epaulets. |

Thanks Nancy. |
