I was given a 74 Legend recently that appears to have some damage but I'm not sure if this is an urgent repair or how it will be affecting the way the guitar plays. I'm not a very experienced player.

I attach a couple of photos that show a small crack behind the headstock and the center strip that runs down the back of the neck is raised.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Doesn't look great, that's for sure. I've updated your status so you can ask your question in the main sections. There is only a handful of members that can respond in the Welcome Center.

I had a Pacemaker that had a 'bump' in the skunk-stripe in the same spot.
It was caused by the previous owner Over-tightening the Truss-Rod Nut.
(on a 1981 Pacemaker there is a Nut on the end of the Truss-Rod)
I sent that guitar to the Factory for a neck reset...
I ended-up with a whole new guitar body, and the fixed the bump on the neck.

But yeah... That doesn't look healthy.
