Cheers all,

(initially posted in the Welcome forum)

Can anyone recommend a non-abrasive cleaner I can use on my somewhat tarnished tuners, keys. I also would like to clean up and polish the tailpiece and bridge. They're not bad really, but could use cleaning. The tuner keys are perhaps the dirtiest. Thanks for any assistance.

I look forward to your input, and since posting this I was able to find some info online that may be of help for all.

Believe it or not, plain toothpaste makes a great cleaner for metal parts. Leaves them minty fresh too.

Hah, I now recall watching my mom polishing silverware with toothpaste. Thanks for that and for the welcome Jonmark.

+1 on toothpaste. I use Crest, it's cheap, works great, and is recommended by 4 out of 5 guitar-playing dentists.

Hands down the best cleaner for metal guitar parts is the Bruno Glo-Cloth No.3590. Mr. Keller turned me onto these and I have never looked back. You can find them on EvilBay for around $5.
