take care of my family about 1-2 million.
then give the rest in $9999 gifts to families who needed it, as long as they promise to share even a little of it with someone who was even in more need then them. Of course I might have to donate some to the save our coral reefs efforts. when the coral reefs go, humans aren't far behind.
and I would buy one of those cool new cases, cut a hole in the end and let T use it for his baritone.... |

I would keep the majority of mine to care for the many members of my immediate family that have suffered over the past ten years.
Then I would share all the rest with friends and relatives who ever treated me or my family with extra love and kindness with no expectations of anything in return except blessings.
Finally, I would buy one of those cool cases and give it to Fugot to make up for the one he cut a hole in the end of before giving it to me.

- Tear up ALL of the credit cards except one
- Take care of the immediate family
- Finish EVERY unfinished project in the house
- Donate to the wifes favorite charities (which are usually ok with me)
- Take an extended vacation with whoever wants to come

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | I'd do about the same as Crimson Lake, maybe give a bit more of it to my wife's kids who always seem to be struggling, donate a bunch to a few arts organizations with whom I've been closely associated for many years, and maybe use some to invest in a real collection of guitars. I might also buy a nice big workshop someplace and restore a few old cars. |

And i'd like to have real "music room" in my house. With Hammond B3, piano, a couple of guitars - electric,acoustic, classical, and maybe a violin and hurdy-gurdy.
yeah, and i'd run a music school for blind people. |

I would pay off all of our bills of course, stash some aside for retirement, then donate the rest to the care and treatment of our wounded soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Location: Indiana | I think I would keep a couple mil for myself and my better half to live(camp and fish)comfortabley. The other 8? I live in a very small town (1500). I spent 13 years on the vol. fire department. I know how much work it is and how hard, to imposible, it is to get funds, sometimes. I think I would open an account with 1 million with the annual interest to go to them. A never ending income for whatever they need. The other 7, do the same thing for a childrens hospital (in my case probably Riley in Indy). Hopefully that money would be used for those who cannot afford the help they are getting.

Location: Budd Lake, NJ | I would go back to school, get my master of divinity degree and become a hospice chaplain; set up a trust fund for the grandkids' educations; figure out what I'd need to live simply, both before and after I retired; endow music scholarships; and finally, be able to get both a custom Adamas and a really good mandolin. After that, I'd do as much good with what was left as I could. (When I stop to think about it, I already have what I really need, anyway--and if I only acquire more stuff, then my kids won't thank me later when I'm gone and they have to deal with it. Trust me, I know whereof I speak.)

Location: 6 String Ranch | The first thing you do is hire a good tax lawyer to tell you how to keep the most away from the goverment.
Then set the rest up in some sort of income producing investments that will maximize your returns.
NOW you can start.
Decide what you want for yearly income and have that go to your bank account.
You want to donate to charities or whatever, do some every year from the income. This way you can always get the best use as you see fit, right then, of the funds. Things will change with time and the million dollar gift this year is forgotten next year. Besides, it's a tax deduction for you, helps reduce what you have to give the government every year..
If you want to do things for your family/kids/whatever, set up income producing trusts with the advice of the tax/financial lawyer you hired in step one. Either do it now or when you check out.

Work very hard at spending the rest of the money, you can't take it with you. |

Location: big island | use it to help others NOW. don't invest it. the economic earthquake is soon to be upon us. dollars will be worthless and people will not be allowed to keep their gold. buy some land to farm on so that you and yours will be able to eat and share food with others. keep some guns and ammunition to shoot people in the leg if they try to steal your crops cuz they were unwilling to farm for themselves. make music to the fullest. |

I'd pay off bills, mortgage etc, finish the updates to the house and new studio.. and just put the rest in high-yield savings of different sorts and live off the interest. I'd probably buy a new bike, and maybe a guitar or two, but nothing drastic. |
