Location: Lebanon, TN | My birthday is on the 16th (45) and I suffered many years as a child with promises of "Oh never mind, maybe Santa will bring you something special".
So in retribution I always get myself something nice for my birthday and nice things for the family at Christmas. That seems to work well for everyone.
Keep an eye open for updates on this years birthday present between now and Christmas :D |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I don't want for anything, but for the last couple years I have bought myself a guitar and called it my Christmas present from my wife. A few years ago I bought my daughter an amp and the next year bought my other daughter an Ovation and picked out a guitar for her boyfriend (from his parents). Last year I helped a coworker pick out a guitar for his wife. I enjoyed that as much as buying a guitar for me. |

Location: SoCal | Let's see, in the past I have gotten a guitar for my niece and nephew (now with my niece, his sister, as he left it in the closet - she values it and plays it), my other nephew, and the son of my office manager (did that twice so he now has an a/e and an electric).
For some reason, there is always a guitar that I want in December like the Deacon 12-str from Woodford. Suzie counts those as her gift to me. She knows how hard it is to live by the one in, one out. Actually, this year, I will probably pay for the lessons for my office manager's son.
My problem is that I try and not do major purchases as I have to pay for all of the gifts and donations to our family and others. Those pesky credit card bills keep coming in January. |

GWB, are you looking for a little justification for a new purchase or perhaps motivation? |

Location: SoCal | This year I got the OFC guitar. 2 months ago I bought a new car. I'm married to the right woman, have great kids, work, and friends. I really can't think of anything else that I want.
Maybe the miracle of having Clifford and Temp become conservatives? |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Having the kids home for Christmas will be enough. If I can get the 3 of us to play one Christmas carol together, that would be the frosting. Getting them to settle down somewhere close to here would make future Christmas presents insignificant. |

In fact, last year, I literally received nothing for Christmas outside the joy of being surrounded by loved ones. No matter. I buy stuff all year long, just like Al. Who needs a special occasion to buy more gear? That, in and of itself, is a special occasion! |

Location: closely held secret | An elderly man in Phoenix calls his son in New York and says, 'I hate to ruin your day, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are divorcing; forty-five years of misery is enough.'
'Pop, what are you talking about?' the son screams.
'We can't stand the sight of each other any longer,' the old man says. 'We're sick of each other, and I'm sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Chicago and tell her,' and he hangs up.
Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone. 'Like heck they're getting divorced,' she shouts, 'I'll take care of this.'
She calls Phoenix immediately, and screams at the old man, 'You are NOT getting divorced. Don't do a single thing until I get there. I'm calling my brother back, and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then, don't do a thing, DO YOU HEAR ME?' and hangs up.
The old man hangs up his phone and turns to his wife.
'Okay,' he says, 'They're coming for Christmas and paying their own fares.' |

"Lego?!?! I'm 40 years ol....wait. Look what you can build!)
For myself, I want for virtually nothing. (If you don't include guitars and recording equipment I understand.) |

Bump some others above it and it'll be hard to find on page 2. Merry Christmas. |
