That is the new fold open top, designed so you can change the bracings more easily and thus you can voice the instrument to your own specific tastes. Very innovative! The wave of the future and thanks to Jim, we get to see it here first! |

I think I'm going to leave it in the "4" finish. Natural, to show the beauty of the cardboard grain. |

Location: Denmark | I think it's pretty cool. Nice to see that young people actually do learn something not based on computers or global politics. IMO it is projects like this which may form the base for the highest in workmanship. Especially if the ... product ... will be tested and if necessarily corrected. It does look like the saddle could need some trimming.

I know he's going to like that, and maybe get him interested in acoustics too. I just figured an electric with a narrow neck and light strings would be easier for him to learn on. Also, through an amp like my small Marshall, it makes a lot of noise for very little effort. (maybe too much noise) :eek: | |

The Trader doesn't like heavy strings. He could color code the wire nuts as tuning knobs to match D'Addario's color coded ball ends on the strings. :D | |

Location: Budd Lake, NJ | The one I first began playing on wasn't a whole lot better than this one; in fact, aside from the fact that mine had two more strings, this one might even be an improvement! I look forward to when the first model with the epaulets debuts. At least it won't be necessary to do an LX version; the body already looks to be radically light-weight. Congrats, Jim and Co.
