Location: Corpus Christi, TX | Are all Elite LX's made in USA. This local Craigslist ad has me interested but there is no model number and I am not sure if the price is a good one.
Any comments?

Anything like an AX or TX is off shore.
.
If I were in the market and it's local enough I sure would make the trip to check it out.

And yes, the price is a good one.

Location: Jet City | The price is ridiculously low, should go for twice that. Get it. The 1778LX is awesome. |

If that is a 1778lx, and I lived in Corpus Christi instead of England, that would not be for sale now. It would be mine! |

Location: Utah | Rule of Thumb: USA Ovations are worth more in quality and playability than the market brings. If the condition is good and you like the guitar, you are getting a tremendous value for your money.
In other words, even an O which is priced somewhat above the current market is a great value! Only if you expect to resell the guitar in the near future would I worry about whether the price is "good". If you plan on keeping it for years, the value might go up or down, but you'll get to play a great guitar in the meantime.
I have passed up guitars in the past because the price was $50 or $100 more than some bargains which had recently been had. Every one is a regret! Especially the 1537 for $600 locally a few years ago. I happily paid nearly twice that recently for a 1537.
That 1778LX is a stellar guitar. Well worth 2X or more the price being asked in that ad.

Location: Corpus Christi, TX | I procrastinated all day yesterday about this guitar, I have already rescued two 6718"s this year and wasn't sure if I wanted another guitar. Who am I kidding I wanted it.
So went to the local national chain pawnshop that was advertizing it and luckily it was still there. Although their craigslist ad said it was in excellent condition that was not the case. The previous owner had put a stickon pickguard on it and when someone removed it some of the top finish came off. It is pretty dirty and needs some tender loving care.
Of course I felt sorry for it and decided to recsue it and take it home and treat it the way it deserves. The case that came with it is great on the inside but has some problems on the outside. I'd rate the case and the guitar as very good condition.
Thanks for your comments I really appreciate the feedback. Oh yea, it is a 1778

Location: south east Michigan | What kind of dufus would put a stick on pic-guard on a guitar like that?
