Location: Birmingham, Al. | So I needed to adjust the truss rod on my 1778tx-5. No big deal. I even found the adjustment allen wrench that I had from a previous Ovation Elite! That's a miracle! Well I was adjusting and then measuring and retuning repeatedly until I got the relief right where I wanted it, .010" under the 5th fret with the number 1 and 13 fret fretted. Just like the manual says. So I put the access cover back on and began to play. It feels and sounds great! Then I hear "clang". It was then I realized that I had left the allen wrench IN the guitar! I couldn't believe I had done that but I did. So off with the cover to get my wrench, which I did. So I'm playing again and I start thinking, It sounded better with the wrench in the truss rod nut! I'm keeping it out though. |

Haven't done it yet... |

Location: Texas | Maybe it sounded better with the wrench in there because you forgot to replace the access cover after you removed the wrench? |
