| Here we are, a week after ZillaFest & the buzz has yet to wear off. Mrs. g8r had such a blast (needless to say so did I) that she wants to host another OFC jam soon.
So, here's a proposal. If there's interest, we're thinking of a jam at the g8r.house on the MLK holiday weekend next January (that's Jan 19-21 '08). If ya'll think that's too soon after ZillaFest, or too soon before Amelia, for all that travel, just let us know and we'll find another date later in the year.
Accommodations are more Holiday Inn than Ritz-Carlton like the Zilla Estate, but really, guitar playing and camaraderie is all that matters, right? We can house a few here, too. Let me know if you're interested, or give suggestions for another date. We're open anytime. |

| What time can we expect you? (Better than Thursday; I never could get the hang of Thursdays).
Seriously, for OFC members the door's always open and the guitars are always in tune. And the beer's always cold, or we could warm up a few for the Brits. :D |

I however have to wonder if the G8R's have the proper sound proofing in their abode?
Please submit the appropriate deposit for said services to the previously known address.

Here\'s a link to a pdf with a few more songs to add to the Southern Style Songbook.
So far, we've got "pretty sure" commitments from DesignZilla, BegginJim, Captain_Lovehandles, TRBoy, Trader Jim, Gway, and Beal. Anyone else? Jeff in Central FL? Amazingly Detached? You guys are (relatively) close by. Guaranteed great time! |

Beggin, TR, are we up for another road trip? Total 4 hours less driving this time.
BluesSailor, how about meeting up to make it a foursome?
g8r, just gimme a piece of floor and I'm good. If you've got a detached garage, that would be good for sleeping Jim. |

Actually, she's in a nursing home. We have a caretaker in her house so she can keep the homestead exemption and not have the nursing home claim the house. FL let's you do that (not count homestead as an asset for certain purposes) which is why OJ hi-tailed it here and sunk all his money into a mansion.
Don't forget, Beggin threw down the gauntlet - he and I have a snoring duel on tap! Just think of the resonant frequencies that'll hit all those guitars! :D ;) |

I was sittin' out on the veranda for a spell, sippin' on a mint julip, ponderin' that there "Southern Songbook" you fellers got a-goin' down there. Now I know you might be thinkin' me one them there "Yankees" but you can see by my manner speakin' of that that is as far from the truth as Petticoat Juction is from Hooterville.
I guess what I'm takin' a lot of aw-shuckin' to get to is that, well, I've been feelin' lower than a snakes belly in a wagon wheel rut lately and one of them there song books might just be the thing to get me right again.
Ifin it's no trouble.

The Southern Style book still resides at Southern Style Songbook PDF . Get 'em while they're hot!
This is the original book from last June. Let me add that added pages are not added, so they're not really added pages, are they? |

Also, any food dislikes, allergies, etc.? Prepare to be stuffed - SWMBO loves to cook. |

I don't remember which sheets DZ gave us & which ones TRBoy brought down (I think the latter are the ones without chords since he's the master transposer :p ). I'll get the Fogelbergs into a final form and send you a PDF. Thanks. DZ handed out even more late Saturday after all the civilized people had left. |

Location: GA USA | Okay, here's a stab at Fogelberg tabs. I had to spend some time fixing problems, and writing some from memory, but it should get us going at least.
On Old TN, I found it tabbed in C, but I remember the songbook had it in D, and sure enough, the recording is in D. I did a simple 4 chord version. I think that in first time group jam settings, no-brainer chords are a plus.
We can fix some of these up during the weekend. Zilla, see how "Face" fits with what you figured out.

But I think I will make a list of what's in my book now. It should be pretty much what you have too. |

I was in Denver (well... near the airport anyway) yesterday and would have loved to have met some of the people out there. Unfortunately it was an in and out trip. |

I guess Y'all will have to put up with me,(and my poor playing, I don't have drums to fall back on!) as long as TJ is driving. So, if the creek don't rise, I'll see you there! :D |

Earplugs will be issued at the door to everybody staying with us - you don't want to damage your hearing listening to me and Jimbo duke (ahem, snort) it out with our competition. |

I still have all the sheets that TR gave us WITH NO CHORDS, but most of them aren't "in the book" because hey - THEY GOT NO CHORDS!

| The earlier the better, as ar as I'm concerned. I expect after jamming into the wee hours of Saturday morning that Crimson Lake, BegginJim, TRBoy, the Captain and I will be fed and ready to play by the time Trader & Gway get here ~10. I imagine "Zilla and Jeff will be here around then, if not earlier, but I haven't heard their latest plans. |

I do Harlen in Am.....I just sounded out the chords by ear. I didn't know what key Patty or Darrell used. (never hear Brad Paisley's version)
I first heard Patty do the song and loved the tune so much that I bought her "Mountain Soul" CD (GREAT CD btw...that woman can sing!!)then one day I heard Darrell Scott's version and come to find out that he wrote it....KEWL!!!
I'll bring the song sheet with (my) cords to Fla-A-Duh! |

Location: Marlton, NJ | Hey all. Got back from the fest a little while ago. First and foremost - I want to thank Gator, Mrs. Gator and the little Gator for opening up their house to this crazy group. I felt like I was visiting old friends... which I guess I was! Sergio - you and the Mrs. are very warm and gracious hosts... thank you!
My fingers are close to bleeding, we played so much. It was great to see some old friends - Jas, Beggin and TR - and to meet some new ones - Gator, TraderJim, Gway and Designzilla - and I'm very disappointed that I missed Beal and Jeff.
Last night I learned some cool techniques from TR, which I promptly forgot today. Mrs. Gator is a great cook!
Of course got to play some great guitars - 1537, Custom Legend, Tak EF360, UTE, Adamas II, another 47RI. Got to hear what my mandolin should sound like - thanks TR! Learned the backstories to a couple of country songs - thanks TR again.. I think. Thanks to Beggin for the non-slip pick.
While I'm typing, they're still there plugging away and most definitely having a great time. I hope Beal came.
The bad news is, I had to leave early - the good news is, I'll see almost everyone in Amelia.
Thanks again guys and gals - it was great seeing you all!
