| Hi Folks,
I am new to this scene. I was thinking of selling my old guitar that was in storage. I searched on-line and found a few pictures that matched and lo and behold I believe it is an Ovation Ultra GP 1431-E!!
It is a lot of fun to play, but I have spent most of my time on my acoustic so the Ovation has basically sat in its case in storage since the mid 80's.
I would appreciate any advice on how to sell it and what it might be worth.
thanks a whole bunch,
Todd

Location: Jet City | If you're trying to get as much as you can, I'd suggest eBay. I've seen them sell for $500-2500, but I think those $2500 days are gone. It's due to the fact Josh Homme played them for a while... nothing more. I mean don't get me wrong, it's an awesome guitar, but not worth >$1000 in my opinion. Really, if I judged it by the standards I would on any other Asian import, I'd put it in the $700-900 range, mostly for the fact of the blended neck design and the killer dimarzio super distortion pickups, and a beautiful maple cap. The rest of the guitar was pretty poorly finished in my opinion, even by import standards (especially these days) with cheap plastic inlays, a sticker for a serial number, binding, and some other various finishing (or lack of) issues.
I had a sunburst and traded it for a 1768-7LTD ("Book" Elite) and a good vocal mic. Both of us thought we got the better of the deal I'm sure. That said, I do miss it.
My suggestion, put it up on eBay, or put a price on it here. Better the price, the faster you have dollars lining your pockets. Pick a price | |

| Thanks - I appreciate the advice. I figured it would be something like that.
When I go to the selling part of the forum, I cannot find a new post button.
Can someone tell me where it is hidden or what am I missing?
thanks again,
Todd
