Location: moline, illinois | Hey guys I got a new guitar this week, she's a real beauty a 30th anniversary custom legend 1719CM.I love custom legends and this one is everything that makes us say they are the most desirable, beautiful finish, exquisite craftsmanship and a full rich tone that the A braced deep bowls are known for.I'm calling it a birthday present to myself like I needed a reason to buy one beyond the fact they're awesome and rare.
I did my best with pics,i'm no Damon but here's a few including a trio of my custom legends,1619,1719CM,1769

Location: SoCal | Tony, I wish I could seriously talk with you about the one under the bed, but I'm about 2 years away from saying anything but my favorite expression "It's not in the budget". Maybe someday....... |

Location: SoCal | Paul, as you know from my past, I often end up with one or two of a particular model often to hold until someone is ready (I see it more as an adoption agency). Some of us (including you and me) have had the ability to play a lot of O's and A's that others have never seen or played.
Even when the model was current, rarely could you find it at a local guitar store.
I am no hurry. |

Location: SoCal | Yep, got a few but no hurry although the price goes up each year. Just need to weed down some of the herd of Ovations, Taks, some Martins, etc., especially if they aren't getting played or often. Not posting a price as not listed 'for sale' but I could consider.
1687-7 from 1981, 2-knobber, excellent, serial # 1893.
1987-7 from 1979, 2-knobber, excellent - this is one I will probably keep as it appears serial # 666 bothers some. Never had a negative thought when playing it, excellent.
1687-8 OFC I slothead, excellent.
1687-7 two knobber #50 pre-production slothead, excellent [probably not available for sale and not cheap as I paid $12,500 for it years ago]. Two weeks after I bought it, I was solicited by an individual offering $13,700. They are that good and rare.
Two of the only four 1687-2 (red) reissues same as StandingOvation had listed on OFC back in 3/12/2014 (sold per his post of 4/14/2014).
Not a 1687 but the CVT Millennium (with Pluto), excellent.
Just traded a 1687-8 reissue for one of Al's great Ovation 2078LXFKOA-OSG. I love Koa, have a Martin top/sides/back Koa, the Tak parlor, the 2009 Collectors serial #001 Think he still might have a couple available of the 2078LXFKOA-OSG (VIP pre-amp) |
