Hello all,

Many thanks to you all for your advice! It might seem premature, but I've been lurking for years and have only just joined up - thought it was about time.

Not much to say, really - I'm in Manchester (UK) and am very much an amateur in the true sens of the word - I love playing but am not that great! I do love my guitars though. I'd always wanted an Ovation since becoming a Pink Floyd fan, and finally got a Korean 1861 a few years ago. It was not long before I "needed" to upgrade, and I am very happy to also have a rather lovely 1719-30CM. Truth be told, I don't get on with it quite as well - probably beyond my abilities to get the best out of it. But there you go, I suppose GAS often wins over sound reasoning!

Anyway, looking forward to contributing when I can and to reading more of your thoughts and advice.

Cheers!

Hi Mak,

Welcome to the mad house. Someone will be along shortly to grant you full access. The 1719 should purr like a kitten. Have you checked out the action (removing a shim from under the saddle, or tweaking the truss rod)? A good setup can make a huge difference in playability.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I've set it up properly and it is a lovely guitar - sounds and plays great, I suppose I just haven't gelled with it as well as I expected to having finally got it! I'll get there, I'm sure. Cheers!
