Does the 1778T have a 5 piece neck like the 1778LX?
The 1778T is painted black making it impossible to tell. |

(and I don't think the necks are painted) |

Location: Upper Left USA | Currently the Elite T is an LX setup and uses a two-piece Maple neck.
As they introduced the pre-LX T there were various combinations out there. |

The "T" being the low end Ovation that it is (not to demean it at all), the 2-pc Maple neck is less expensive to make than the 5-pc.
...and, Maple is, at this time, a plentiful and "less ecologically sensitive" wood than Mahogany.
They say the 2-pc neck is just as stable as the 5-pc. I believe it, but I still think the 5-pc is cool.

How many Ovations have the Kaman Bar in them? Does the 5 piece neck have the Kaman Bar? The two piece neck?
I noticed taht the new LX series guitars have some special composite material in them to reinforce the neck joint. True? |

Location: CA | I have a hard time imagining the neck contributes in any way — good or bad — to the sound of any guitar. For acoustics, it's all about the top and body.
Isn't it? |

Location: NW NJ | And the T is a darn fine instrument. Has a really big, open sound. By far the best inexpensive new guitar made in the US that Ovation has in the stable and probably would hold that title compared to ANY US manufacturer. I just love the feel and contour of that sweet maple neck. Mine plays as well as any my other O's. Now, if they would just migrate them to the contour bowl... |

Location: Budd Lake, NJ | Robbie's T does have a very sweet neck; it's a great guitar, and I have to say that I've really enjoyed the times I've played it. If I were ever thinking on looking for a "beater," that's what I'd get (in s/s bowl)--but I'd get mine in a slightly more subdued color. (Turquoise, anyone??) ;)
