Location: south east Michigan | Brian & I are going to try something different.
Wend. at Jack's I'm going to use my UTE (with newly installed air locks),(thanks Al),... and Brian is going to use his Strat. We recorded a few songs this way at our last practice and they seem fine.
This might be a good thing. Perhaps our guitars will now stand out from each other rather being two textured top Adamii putting out nearly the same sound.
Or... this might be a bad thing. |

But what the hell... it's not like we're getting paid. You have seen it done before Brad. I posted this photo last week.
Turn the bass up a bit on your Ute and you guys should sound fine. |

I think we touched on this before: how do the "air locks" work for you? Alex seems to be out at the moment and I'm in need of some feedback control for the 1581 RI. Do you notice a thinner plugged-in sound at all? Any impressions? |

Ask me Thursday.
I know they work well enough for Cliff. |

Location: NJ | I think that ANYone who (even occasionally) performs (plugged-in) with a multi-hole should invest in a set of these.
They're cheap, don't take up a lot of room, pop in/out VERY easily, and can save you numerous headaches.
What's t'think about??
It always pays to "Rubber-Up for Safety".

Location: NJ | T'be perfectly honest, I don't USE 'em that often.
The only multi-hole I gig with is the Adamas LongNeck. If it hints at feeding-back, I can dial it out with the NotchFilter. I've got 'em installed in the treble-bout holes just for a bit more "thump" in the bass-side. If I were t'be playing with a loud band (especially with a bass-player), I'd probably just pop 'em all in.
When we had the 4-pc. band, the the bass-player was innordinately loud, and I just LEFT the single FeedbackBuster IN my CBalladeer. I'd just practice (at a lower volume) unplugged, as it was easier than wrestling that big plug in/out under the strings. When I was practicing, I wasn't worried about unplugged tone/volume . . . I just wanted t'get the chords/timing right.
With a Ute, I'd think that you could pop 'em all in, and selectively remove the bigger bungs till you got a tone you liked . . . |

That guy is one of the most fickle guitar guys I have ever known. Falls in and out of love at the snap of a finger. |

Location: south east Michigan | For a number of good reasons we postponed the great electic / acoustic duo experiment.
However, those airlocks worked GREAT!! There were no feedback issues this time!
What really suprised me was how little the plugs effected the un-plugged sound. I plugged the 6 largest holes and left all the little ones open. I expected the un-plugged sound to be like an Estaban, but no! Those Adamas tops in general and the textured tops in specific are amazing. |
