One of the tuners on my 1537 comes out of the threaded socket. I can get it back in with some force but it slips and is not right. Is this worn out and need to be replaced or can it be fixed?

Not worth even trying to fix it. Just replace it.

Have a look at the Schaller M6 vintage copper, if you want to replace the old machines. I would advice you to replace all instead of one, looks and feels much better, especially on such a fine guitar.
