I had a 1979 vintage 1617, damn fine guitar. Loud, beautiful warm tone, easy playing neck. Don't know what the going rate is in Ireland/UK, but I paid US $400 for mine and sold it for a bit under US$600. Mine was in better shape than this one is described.

Looks like someone beat it with a stick. That being said, I'm not sure what the exchange rate is, or what comparable US O's go for across the pond. Could be a nice beater if the price is right.

I don't know where he gets the Legend Deluxe label. It's a regular Legend, not a Custom Legend, and it's far from deluxe.

It does look rough but I may be able to actually go and see it. Price is OK (about 346 US at today's rate) if it's any good. O's don't seem nearly as sought-after on this side of the pond.

D'you think it would play/sound better than my AA-31 if it's in good working order?

I have a 1617 , just like it , sunburst etc. , headstock on mine looks better , otherwise , has all the dings he describes , and , mine has severe finish/cracks at the bridge , it has a Sweet , Singing voice , with subdued midrange , if it is * Powerful Tone * that you need , than look elsewhere , but if you need * Sweet Charming Tone * ( using gauge 12 / 54 ), than the 1617 will deliver that. :)

The guitar Andrea asked for in another thread.

If it would go for this price, it's a good deal.
If it goes for more, it's not interesting (to my eyes). To beat up.

It's sold. He's also selling a 'Balladeer Matrix' - now that looks rough - finish is bubbling off the fretboard like a 1970's Fiat! (he sent me a photo). Wants GB£350 for that - even I can see that's way overpriced for a guitar which was cheap when new, is now old and in bad condition. The more I see some of these, the more I like my Applause! - still holding out for a genuine solid top deep bodied O at the right price though
