Hi everyone, so I am a proud new owner of an Adamas #47 Reissue, an absolute work of art. However the seller did not disclose some "damage" to this beautiful instrument and will no longer respond to my emails, a little disappointed needless to say as he is a fellow OFCer and my experiences with everyone else has been so pleasant. So not sure how to describe what it is I'm seeing as I've never seen this before on an instrument. It seems like some kind of green discoloration along the top binding and I'm too nervous to simply pick away at it as I don't want to take of its original gold coloration. Any advice or help would be extremely appreciated!

If you have the photos at another online hosting site like photobucket, you can just paste the address here so that we can go to it.

If you are lucky, that green discoloration may just be sweat crud.

Without seeing a picture I think what you're seeing is a response to sweat. My Adamas has a similar issue, right where my arm rests. I bought a gold pen (took some hunting around) and very carefully touched it up. The gold paint may have worn away.

Here is a response from a lifelong member who does not have access to the Welcome Center:

OMA,

I can't post in the welcome section but I saw the guy's post about his #47 RI. The discoloring is the result of the previous players arm and sweat wearing away the gold coloring on the binding. Had it happen on my OFC slothead. The factory repainted it and put on a clear coat. Happened again. Not going to worry about it. Let the guy know, please.

Awesome thanks for the info, I'm sure now that's exactly what it is! It just bugged me not knowing what it was, seems like a pretty unavoidable result of playing too much haha!
