38% EA68 Viper
34% Tak75
10% VXT
8% 1581 AdII
10% five others |

Occasionally my 1581, the "ResOvation" and very occasionally my Custom Folklore. Oh yeah, and a De Gregorio Cajon. Next few gigs I'm going to try my new 1773-LX instead of the nylon Viper. |

We play through the Bose L-1 with a Fishman Loudbox as a monitor, if necessary. Jeff has his Roland synth going most of the time, so it is a complex sound! |

On the rare occasions that I need more amp, I have been using a Deluxe Reverb for electric and a Trace Elliott TA100R for acoustic, although I now intend to use a Genz Pro picked up late last year in place of the Trace. |

At home my practice time has been mostly on a '79 1617-1 Legend. Sweet 'ol playing guitar. |

Always my 1115 with newly-installed-by-me OpPro w/XLR and K&K P/U's. I use the XLR direct to the board. The sound system is over-the-top wonderful and the sound guy knows what he's doing. We even have custom-fitted in-ear monitors. It's all very easy for me as far as the nuts 'n bolts are concerned. I can concentrate on playing and worshiping.

Last sunday they brought a harp... she now sits directly in front of me. Last night at practice, the bass player brought an upright bass... also in front of me. I might as well just bring a cardboard cutout of myself and leave it there. At least my amp is up on a stand above the fray. |

Ovation CL Wideneck w/ OP-Pro
Tak TNV760 OM cutaway w/ Cool Tube
Both are super easy to play, comfortable, and have great electronics. I have "better" instruments but I wouldn't want to schlep them around to gigs.

Vic Don't think there aren't Legend lovers out here. Soon, I hope, I'm either going to have a 1117 built for me (acoustic only Legend, A braced), or more likely, send my old 78, crap sounding Legend back to the factory and have a whole new A braced body put on the old neck.
IMHO, A braced Legends are just great guitars.... |

Location: enid, ok | Is this another one of those "acoustic only" questions? As Alice Cooper once pointed out, it's all "buckskin and granola".
My weapon of choice is a plank, but I do enjoy playing it, and it's easily replaced, which my Ovation is not; anymore, it rarely leaves the house.
I use a Fernandes Revolver Pro, a factory-second that I picked off feebay a few years back for $208, another $105 to make the neck playable, 2 humbuckers, a 3-spring Floyd, and the sustainer circuit in it. The pickups are nothing special, but with the sustainer it HOWLS! Old school all-tube Dean Markley 40 watt amp (hey, they were on sale!), a slew of analog and 3 digital pedals of my choosing, pick is optional-anymore, I can get by without one. I even have an ebow. If I find a note I like, I can make it last infinitely! |

Location: big island | i gig mostly with my adamas 1688 12 stringer. its quality of sound really enhances the hawaiian/hapa haole style music my trio plays. one of my band mates switches between his ukulele and the almansa thin body classical guitar i sold him. the other plays bass and we all sing. we have gotten several unexpected gigs over the past three weeks and it has been good fun. i usually play the takamines at church as it is inland and away from the shoreline.
our trio plays through either of two PA systems we own, a yamaha and a mackie.
for small venue/wedding solo gigs, i use my 1688 plugged into a marshall AS80R amp, which also handles my microphone and the occasional drum machine.
gabby pahinui and roland cazimero were both very influential in some traditional but mostly contemporary local style music. they both played 12 stringers, a martin for gabby and an adamas and a custom for roland. so the 1688 lends a very "nahenahe" (sweet) and familiar sound to many of the songs we perform |

I would have to add that he 460 is probably the equal to my 84 C-Series. I have used that at O'Kanes a bunch with similar results. It's easy to play and sounds good. The 460 is better in that it's got a built in tuner(that's easy to use and read) and has a bit wider tonal range with the Cool Tube and Tri-Ax cominbation. It gets real bright for Mustang Sally and nice and smooth for Into the Mystic.
The biggest factor is that the C-Series is in a case behind two others and the 460 is in front. Funny how that works. |

On Wednesday Bible study, it again is the 2080 "unplugged".
My 1537 doesn't get out much anymore which is why I am thinking of selling it and getting a 1581 that Waskel keeps telling me is so fantastic.
Would have snagged the one in Portland if I had known in time.

We play 3 or more times per month at church, mostly in a smaller room for the youth service, and once per month in the main sanctuary. Usually I'm plugged into the house system, but on occasion have to use the Roland Cube 30 amp. Rehearsals are once per week and use the same setup.
The electric guitar runs almost always runs through a Korg Toneworks PX4 digital effects box to add reverb, distortion, or compression before going to the PA or amp. The acoustic runs directly into the PA.
The new addition is a Digitech Bad Monkey stomp box to allow my volume to be boosted during solos. I'll post a review soon.

Wanting to use my AdamasII 1881 but need to get the nut slots lowered a little; the guy I bought it from was using it for slide!
By the way, I constantly hear about the lack of bass in the shallow bowls and think they just need beefier strings. I love the bottom end on my 1881 with bronze Elixir Custom Lights, which have a heavier bottom.

None of the congregation can sit in the first 6 rows because of the volume! They all accept it because we're playing hymns. Thought my lead break in `Onward Christian Soldiers' would have finished him off, but he was having none of it. Taking a Marshall 4 x 12 stack with me next week and injecting it into the PA.
