One of the many problems with that site is that they greatly overcharge for shipping in most cases. One of the other problems is that they often do not disclose flaws and defects in what they sell. I guarantee if they say "has not been tested", or if they say "no returns", there is something wrong with the item.

I used to deal with them. I got burned many times. The last time it was a guitar that was described as, "in good condition". When it arrived, the bridge was ready to pop off and the top was sinking. I went around and around with them for weeks before I finally mentioned the word "lawyer" and that got their attention. I got a refund.

There are Goodwills from all over the country who post items here. Some of them are decent, but most are not. Very few have anyone on hand who knows anything about guitars. They mislabel things all the time, and once in a while you can get a good deal. But I have stopped dealing with them at all now.

As for the Martin, at least they took good pictures this time. But I'm sure by the time it sells the price plus shipping will be far higher than what one would pay for the same vintage/model that was in perfect condition.

No.... mistake as in dropping of a rare Martin at a Goodwill store. Unless of course they knew the value and wanted to make a large donation to charity.

To a lot of people, a guitar is a guitar. To them, it's just a guitar with a brand name of Martin. It probably belonged to a deceased relative and was with a bunch of other stuff that got dropped off.

With corroded gears and overall condition looks like it has been buried in a basement or garage for decades. I doubt it would be playable without major restoration efforts and then it would not be original/rare anymore - so not sure what the point is.

Not ALL old Martins are collectible treasures. This is quite a gamble.
