Location: Long Island, NY | I just learned Hotel California specifically because it would sound great on my 1658.
Anybody have a recommendation for other songs to play on a 12 string?

Location: New Hartford CT | "Dust in the Wind on a 12 string (for those of us who cannot fingerpick)" Learning to play Dust correctly is a great way to begin fingerstyle. I don't subscribe to 'right way-wrong way' thinking most of the time but in this case learning the proper technique required to play the song as written will put you on the path of being more than just a strummer. Dust in the Wind was originally a finger excercise Kerry Livgren developed to improve his technique....when someone heard it they said 'hey that would be a great song' - a bit of an understatement. If you can master the following lesson you will be well on your way to broadening your guitar horizons. It's time consuming but well worth the effort. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aUr4aaSDig |
