Location: Milano, ITALY | Hi everybody. Since the world is not flat, I decided to update my personal website adding a specific Ovation page. It's in Italian, but the images speak by themselves :-)
At the bottom I added a list of the Ovations I would like to add to my family. If you have one for sale please let me know. Note that I can take care of shipping and I also have a California address to use in case the seller is not available to ship out of the US.
This is the page. Ciao!

Location: Milano, ITALY | Thank you for your suggestion, most appreciated because I surfed that post several times for the pure pleasure of looking at that beauty.
The OFC-2 is a fantastic instruments, but the 2080ES has the fantastic postmodern epaulets, mixed the hi-tech look of the top. It's as gorgeous as an Adamas can be, plays as awesome as my best Adamas and - with a patient search- can be found at a much lower price.
Don't get me wrong. If I were rich I would buy it, because it is a gem of the last-real NH Ovation. But 4500 bucks is a lot of money for me and I'd rather invest them in 2-3 other guitars more tuned with my wallet and my... retro-taste

Location: Milano, ITALY | I found the 1982 and enquired, but I could not trace the 30th. There' a mint one on the eBay, but the seller is so weird That I don't feel like giving him my money.
On the other hand, this is awesome

standing Ovation
Palalido Milan , November 17, 1975 , are in the front row . In front of me , on the stage, playing a guitar Fabrizio De André ever seen, with the rounded enclosure and scoop odd shape. Charming. It ' the first Ovation accomplice and I see the unforgettable Fabrizio I fell in love immediately and decided that as soon as I can I'll have a guitar like that. Buying my first Ovation - a Matrix acoustic sunburst with aluminum handle - in 1979 by Tom Lee Piano in Hong Kong, for very little money . I have not stopped . Change the Matrix with an Artist " pre k -bar" in the early 80s , in the wake of unconditional love for the Ovation Paul Simon brings to the stage at Central Park in 1981 for one of the most extraordinary concerts in the history .
Alberto with the Ovation in the 80s
Even vestendomi for the wedding, July 4, 1984 , do not give the Ovation , as you can see in the picture above in their underwear. The Artist is in turn sold to capture a wonderful Anniversary " pre k -bar" , then sold to my friend Paul in the era of electric delirium . That Anniversary regret it to this day.
Alberto in 2010 with a Adamas 1680
Even for Adamas is love at first sight. Indeed the very first . The headstock carved as the bridge , the texture of the table , the colors , the leaves of precious woods . What a great guitar! My first Adamas is purchased by George Gruhn in the mid 90s (this is the 1587-5 # 5767-79 , 1991 ), followed by the others. I never gave up the opportunity to play a un'Adamas whenever I could.
Roundbacks
Over time, I also had one of the first Elite ( 1537-4 ) I regret a little ' (but did not play very well) and a T Elite ( 1778T - OFT with orange flames ) . Below is my entire family Roundback current , which grows from time to time at the expense of the family of plants. The goal is to have the Ovation that I wanted for years without being able to get , the more the Anniversary I made ??the mistake of selling many years ago. Prepared by , in order of age .
1982 Ovation Collectors' 1982-8
1982 Ovation Collector's
In 1982 comes the magazines advertising ( here it is front and back taken from the original brochure ) where Bill Kaman , scion of the great Charlie shows off her boots and a magnificent blue guitar . The 1982-8 is the first star of Ovation Collectors' Series , a line of limited edition instruments that , year after year , will tickle the palates . Some more sick than I have had the courage to follow Bill in his madness , buying all the Collector , year after year. I just get the last ( the fabulous 2008-5 , which closes this overview ) and the first . It ' a Legend enriched with ebony fretboard and abalone inlays . At the moment ( early June 2014 ) is from my family in California, but soon it will be in Milan, in his beautiful brown case .
1983 Adamas 1581-9 # 3343
Adamas 1581-9 1983 # 2 3343
One of the first Adamas 2 built , very well used , and in wonderful condition despite its age . He played so much and the table is elastic , it vibrates fine, resounds. Well-balanced response , it is easy to play thanks to the perfect keyboard and is light . Brown case .
Ovation 1986 Custom Legend 1689-4 # 352412
Ovation 1986 Custom Legend 1689-4 # 352412
Bought in May 2014 as the first reaction to the news of the closure of the historic factory in New Hartford, CT as part of the Fender . Found on Craigslist after a long search . And ' impeccable, not a scratch , in spite of almost 30 years. Despite the shallow bowl has a voice that most enjoyable even from acoustics . The table is beautiful , the inlays too. A beauty destined to valorize in time, but also a practice guitar to carry around and comfortable to play.
1988 Adamas 1587 - X # 4602-88 Blue Boy
Adamas 1 1988 Blue Boy 1587 - X # 4602-88
I've always loved guitars in custom colors and this was one of those I admired most about Ovationtribute , also because it was donated by Bill Kaman to Jol Dantzig (the founder of Hamer Guitars that I admire very much) in 1988. Jol after a while ' sold it to Steve De Palatine, Illinois collector , from whom I bought it in 2008. E ' was played recently , so it's a bit ' tied in his voice, but he has class to spare. On Ovationtribute still appears on behalf of the previous owner, but that's okay .
1991 Adamas 1587-5 # 5767-79
1991 Adamas 1 1587-5 # 5767-79
My first Adamas, purchased from Gruhn Guitars in the 90s, has all the guitar with the voice more balanced . It ' a cutaway without the holes in the cutaway , the variant that I like the most . I played it a lot, but it is in perfect condition. The keyboard has a slight imperfection beyond the 15th fret that prevents keep the action as low on the other ( but it's minimal, almost imperceptible ) , so sometimes I use open with the slide . But lately I played it more and more because it is warm, friendly atmosphere.
1994 Adamas 1687 -x # 050 494 made ??for Bill Kaman
1994 Adamas 1 Custom Made for Bill Kaman # 050 494
I saw it by chance on the list of Dave's Guitar Shop and I wanted it immediately. The inside label says " Custom built for Bill Kaman " and Dave told me that he had been made in the color of his Porsche 911 . A made ??for Mr. Ovation Ovation 2 can not be a masterpiece of perfection. Sold the Porsche , Bill also gave the Adamas , who is now in my custody . There is no date, but according to Jérôme Galopin - animator Ovationtribute.com - the serial number says that the guitar was completed April 5, 1994 . Obviously the quality is perfect , the details are taken care of even though on that flawless Adamas series of the era. Handle incredible . Of the Adamas Adamas .
1997 Adamas 1591 - BCB # 88/90
3 1997 Adamas 1591 - BCB # 88
The Adamas 3 was built to celebrate (but not reproduce ) one of the first prototypes of Adamas, exactly the # 17, which dates from the first half of the '70s. The Adamas 3 was produced in only 90 copies and this is 88 , so one of the last . Guitar by the powerful voice , with a significant emphasis on the low , perhaps due to different hole , that begs to be played with a lot of force to give their best. But if you give us with the pick seems magnified . The color is amazing .
2007 Adamas 2008-5 Collector ' # 57/100
2007 Adamas 2008-5 Collector ' # 57/100
For the first time in the series appears to be a Collector Adamas , which is also the last in the series that began in 1982. Built at the end of 2007 , the 2008-5 is the swan song of New Hartford , with features that are of the best quotes from Adamas 1976 to the present day . Color " satin black" , top to plot cross- binding composite decorated in gold , deep Roundback contoured , epaulets in 13 exotic woods , rosewood fingerboard with 14 keys with satin finish , inlay " Collector " in gold at the 12th fret , vane slot with Adamas logo in gold , gold Schaller mechanical , two-way truss rod style "pre k -bar" with copritrussrod rosewood , rosewood bridge carved Vip 5 preamp and housing 9158 . genius of Charlie Kaman lives in this extraordinary instrument which I have the honor of being the guardian from 4 June 2014.

final Thoughts
Charlie Kaman
In January 2008, the Fender Musical Instruments takes possession of Kaman Music group , initiating an incomprehensible work of demolition of half a century of intellectual work , which culminated with the closure of the historic facility in New Hartford , CT. Here's my commentary on the news , on 31 May 2014-48 years after the inauguration - the historic home of New Hartford , CT would have produced the latest Ovation and then was finally decommissioned and 46 employees - mostly valiant master luthiers who had also produced the magnificent acoustic Fender , Guild and Hamer - fired.
Charlie Kaman is the loose cannon in the history of American acoustic guitar . Extraordinary character , who is leaving to live up to treasure inimitable legacy of contamination , creativity and sound art . In the four decades of "his" Ovation (1966-2007) , while the acoustic guitar was limited to mindlessly copy itself , Charlie Kaman the reinvented thanks to his visionary talent , scandalizing the bigots , but revving the free spirits and open innovation . His " plastic guitar " does turn up the farm to the traditionalists , but for decades is one of the most seen on stages around the world, thanks to quality , amplification and destetica .

Appears to be a possible translation error. If it is "her", then I can see that...if Bill is actually short for Billie, then boots is the mispelled word.
