I'm not joking here either. As you can see by reading the forum, a lot of folks are concerned about this. And I really do love your work. |

Location: Pacific Northwest Inland Empire | Cogent question. We have have some skilled artisans in this community. I might ask MWoody, the same question. I really don't feel adequate to the task, as my tooling is very meager, and have virtually no electronics skills. As for custom orders, having the basic parts, and then embellishing the design, would be an area we could develop, but carving the necks, warehousing the tops, maintaining a parts inventory, that would be beyond most of us, I would surmise.
BTW, any info on how the MotherShip materials inventory is going to be liquidated? There's an opportunity there, I think. Maybe, we need to start a collective fund, to salvage the remaining things we can. Hate to sound like a Dickens rag-picker, but......... |

Location: Hot Springs, S.D. | OK, KSDaddy hasn't answered yet, but I know Woody has done great things for some of the folks here. Who else wants to volunteer? We need to get a group together to be our "new mothership" when we're in need of repairs. I can do SOME stuff, but I could never achieve their level of craftsmanship. (Hey, I was an inspector - it was my job to IDENTIFY problems, then send them to someone ELSE to be fixed. ) |

I would think Patch alone could keep 3 or 4 folks going. |

We can get more wood. We can't replace the people, or experience, but find them a venue, maybe. I'm just curious where all that tooling is going to go. I doubt it stays inside the Old Mill, gathering Dust & Rust.
It probably wouldn't surprise this group, if FMIC intends to let it all sit & rot. |

Location: Caribou, ME | Thanks for the vote of confidence, Alison, but to be honest I haven't been doing many repairs lately. If I can't give 100% to the craft then I would be doing a disservice to a customer. I still do the occasional repair for people (and the local music store) but it's all pro bono and hopefully karma will make it right somewhere down the road.
Having said that, if someone gets stuck, give me a holler. |
