Location: Boise, Idaho | Glen didn't come here on his final tour, but we happened to be in Phoenix and caught his show there. He repeated himself a couple of times and could never remember what key a song was in, but once he got started, using the teleprompters a lot for the lyrics, he was great. He made a joke about where he was and I didn't get it. I thought it was sad he didn't even know where he was, but then realized he was setting up the intro for "By the Time I Get to Phoenix." It was a great show and I'm glad I got to see it.
I was just talking to someone today whose mother also has Alzhiemers. Mine is still in an independent living center with my dad and can still remember all the kids, but can't remember what she said 5 minutes before. She can still play piano and sing, though, so that must be in a different part of the brain. |

Having the love of others around you to remind you that you are loved is awesome.
Especially if they are hot... |

Can't personally take any credit for it. The Professor used some of his connections through the CSO to make it happen. I was just happy to be a part of it. |

Location: Taxed To Death State | I just read an interesting article on Alzheimer's research and they say marijuana, either smoked or eaten, slows the progression of the disease in elderly folks. My mother uses is for MS and has good results. Another reason to keep a good buzz on. |

Location: Texas | Just like the states that sanctioned the lottery, it boils down to having nothing to do about what is right/wrong/dangerous/etc...it is all about what a taxing entity can gain from a new rev source. No one is immune to the collateral damage. As far as Glen is concerned, I saw him at three of the Goodbye Tour concerts and thought he gave a tremendous performance in all three, given the nature of the disease. TJ and the kids did a heck of a job working together to keep Glen as focused as he could be. It was clearly evident he enjoyed playing to and entertaining his fans. I'm not sure that anyone can be suprised by this turn in events for Glen. It is extremely sad for him, as well as his family. May God bless all of them. |
