Location: Michigan | OK lets all fess up to dancing when you had to much to drink.
All of us get dragged up to the ( for me ) forbidden dance floor at a wedding or a bar by your wife, girlfriend, boyfriend?,or just someone that is sitting at your table and you have to do a dance. You slowly move to the floor taking up as much time as you can so the song ends quicker and you dont have to embarrass yourself for any longer than needed. Then out of nowhere the ALCOHOL takes over and you think you can be John FU&%^IN Travolta so you get really stupid and put on a show, then you wake up the next morning and someone calls you and tells you how funny you were last night while dancing.Oh My Gosh.I tell myself I will never get that drunk again but that is only short lived till the next event.
I will not dance in public anymore unless I am SIX sheets to the wind and then I do all sorts of old dances like
THE HITCHICKER :)
THE MONKEY
THE SWIM :o
THE FRUG
THE SPRINKLER :p
THE FUNKY CHICKEN
THE TWIST
FISH OUT OF WATER ( ONLY ONCE IN MY LIFE )
THE ROBOT
THE PARACHUTE
THE CROCODILE
THE HIPPIE HIPPIE SHAKE
THE AIR GUITAR :D
I would like to hear your stories of the
!! I was forced onto the FORBIDDEN DANCE FLOOR !! and ??????
By the way did I miss any old dance routines???? GWB |

In general - alcohol GREATLY helps my will to dance and the ability to do so once I get out there. |

Chicks dance like strippers...
Guy just wave their arms around while watching.
[Slow dancing does make sense.]
I dance at concerts... The Concert Dance...
You jump up-and-down and spill beer.
BTW- Last time I "Dance" danced was in a Mosh Pit in the eighties...
Hockey and Football moves come in handy...
So... Does anyone remember "The Tighten-Up"? |

To adjust a statement of Mr. Lincoln's, "Better to not dance and be thought a fool, than to dance and confirm it."
Viewing it all with great amusement from the sidelines,

Personally, there ain't no way in Hell I'm dancing unless I am sufficiently alcohol-enhanced. These days I drink a couple of glasses of wine on Thanksgiving and then again on Christmas, and that's about it. So the chances of regaling the crowd with my lack of dance talent is pretty small. |

Of course it is not easy to stand without sligtly moving your body, but playing-singing-dancing is another thing. I cannot afford myself by now.

| I don't know, I guess the answer as best I can see it is ya have an increased potential to make an ass out of yourself doing anything when your drunk. Easy answer.
This is why I like playing....so I don't have to dance. |

Location: Cicero, NY | Making an ass out of myself is a long standing and well tested trait of the family. Hell, it almost stopped me from having kids. Don't need alcohol, nor to be dancing but neither are out of the question. Compounded the issue by marrying a long time dance instructor (I think she took it on as the Ultimate Challenge - I'm sort of an X-Game among dance teachers) and now I can accomplish it by dancing withOUT alcohol as well.
'Course the bar is lower, that's fer shure. |

'Course the bar is lower, that's fer shure. Weaz, sounds like my life's (dance) story. Wife taught dance for years, daughter excels in tha same category. Alcohol has NEVER made me WANT to dance.
Anyways, I always hated to do anything but slow dance, which I love. However, I did like to do tha "Bump" in my teens.....swing tha hips, move up and down....sweat alot...kinda primal, guess that explains it.... |

I was a professional tap dancer as a child and continue to hire out as a choreographer for a number of performing arts organizations in downtown Denver, plus SWMBO and I were featured during the latest round of Christmas Pops concerts by the symphony. CBS ran a live primetime broadcast of one the shows in the western states. I don't drink, but if I did, you can bet it would show on stage. |

I dance regardless of the amount of adult beverages. To me it's a means of expression that would be banned in the pubic (er, public) arena.
Actually, due to my AUAS (advanced ugly aging syndrome) I mostly dance while sitting on my barstool...
BTW, dancing is favored to 'tap dancing'... |
