I am a brand new member and guitar player and thought I would introduce myself here. My name is Jim and live in the San Francisco bay area. I am 58 and have only playing guitar for a few months. I currently have a Mexican Fender Strat, Martin LX Black, Taylor Big Baby and will be picking up an Ovation Custom Balladeer 1155 tomorrow. The LX and Taylor are not full size as I have some severe neck issues and, at times, the thinner, smaller, the better (it is a bitch getting old). I always like the looks of the Ovations and really looking forward to a 12 string.
The 1155, it is excellent condition and hardly shows its 30 plus years of age. No cracks at the bridge and even has the original hard shell case. I have found references for model decoding and serial number dating but can’t find the specifications for this guitar.
I never thought that there might be an Ovation forum like this, nice to be here.

Your guitar was only made for about three years back in '81-'83 so it might be difficult to find info.
This is all that I could find...

Let us know how you like it when you get it.
