I found a Legend locally that I was interested in purchasing however according to the Tribute Web Site ID sheet the date doesn't match the model/make. Here is the info on the guitar:
Ovation Legend 1867 Series Single Cutaway - 1986
Serial number 349755.
According to the production sheets, they didn't make a shallow 1867 in 1986, just a deep bowl. Did I miss something here? Thanks guys.

How close is the date? The factory data is sometimes vague, and sometimes sellers are told something incorrectly by a previous owner. If it is close enough to go look at, you can verify the condition and how much you like it. If you suspect it may be some kind of fake, perhaps a label taken off of another guitar and pasted in this one, some photos posted here would be quickly analyzed by the hive to determine make/model.

The 83 Collector introduced the SSB. It looks like the serial number matches with 1986. Maybe the chart listing the model numbers and when they were produced is wrong or maybe the ad listing it as an 1867 should be a 1567. It looks like a SSB Legend with a cutaway made in 1986, even though the model number wasn't started until 1990, according to the chart. Just buy it and then try to figure it out.
