That guy is a great salesperson for Ovation. Damon67, thanks for posting. He seemed to talk like the new Ovation model was going to be in full production, or did I misinterpret that? Did anyone play one of those?

OK I really enjoyed watching that piece. But am I the only one who watched him talk about the advantages of moving the sound hole (s) off to the side only to then grab an new O with a center sound hole? Yea yea I know, different guitars for different sounds. But it was kind of comical to watch him grab the new model and not say anything about the placement of the sound hole.

Haven't tried asymetrical on an Ovation, but have on other brands. IMHO, the neck wasn't something that needed improving on, not even in the general public's eye. Though the profile's changed some over the years, they've always had a similar ease of play. That's historically been one of the big selling points, the playability. He touches on that in the video too.
Hopefully it's not too much of a departure. At least it doesn't have bridge pins.

All of my Takamine guitars have assymetric neck profile (gee, wonder where ovation got the idea)
While I do really like that profile, I wouldn't say that was the area that Ovation needed to focus. If anything one of the most loved aspects of Ovation has always seemed to be the necks.

Okay... someone please tell me those new Ovation guitars he was pointing out were just some weird prototypes and NOT the direction Ovation is heading. Change is good, but certain things are so iconic that you just can't change them. Remember when Coke (Coca-Cola) tried to change their flavor? Take note, Ovation.
I hated the headstocks on those guitars. Ovation's headstocks are their signature. I also kind of agree with many who are not thrilled with the asymmetrical necks. WHY? Ovation has made a reputation amongst us true fans of being the innovator, not the copier.
It's nice to see that Ovation is "still alive and well..." and I hope that just a few more people considering a Gibson or a Martin acoustic, will pick up an Ovation or an Adamas acoustic and they too might just catch the fever!
