Location: Michigan | i wonder how much of the fender company profits are on items like clothing and accessories.
i look at these items and think that , if they sell just 2 of their hoodies that the dollar amount is equal to the same as a fender squire stratocaster. i wonder if they sell more shirts , hats and accessories than actual guitars. i would think that their is more profit in shirts , hats and accessories than there are in guitar sales. it seems that allot of people will buy brand name shirts & hats just to wear even if they don't have any connection to the actual product they are endorsing by doing so.
great marketing , i would like to see a spreadsheet on guitar sales verses accessory sales.
i wonder if accessories would come out on top??? GWB |

I own an Indian t shirt and don't own one (had it for 20 years though pre polaris)
how many people own a cbgb's t shirt and have never been there?
or a hard rock cafe t shirt with London or rome?
how about a ramones shirt ? and are too young to have ever seen the band??????
merchandise is big biz and fender takes full advantage of it.
I am not surprised by that |

I wore my long sleeve denim Ovation shirt until it was thread bare and embarrassed my wife in public.
I'd like to buy another.
But it seems that ship has sailed.

Location: Caribou, ME | I've got a couple Gibson jackets. I had a Martin jacket but I gave it to a friend (Martin freak). I told him I liked it but it was kinda stiff.
Get it?
In 1984 I bought a black t-shirt with a neon pink Fender logo from a company called Logo Promotions. I wore that thing about 5 years until one day I took it off and basically did a Hulk Hogan on it in the process. Ditto for the first incarnations of the D'Addario shirts. I'm not having the same luck finding quality stuff anymore.
I'd love to have a Fender jacket. Just waiting for the one that speaks to me I guess. |

what do you think sales $$ dollars $$ wise is bigger for fender
the actual guitars or the accessories clothing ect..???
i know we all buy clothing & accessories from companies that we do not own their main line products.
i would have to say that fender probably sells more $$$$ worth of extras than they do guitars.
what do you think.??? GWB |

Location: Burbank | When I went to NAMM, I went to the Fender T-shirt, hats, underwear and catherer section and bought... an Ovation T-shirt! They only had one to choose from, so the next day I was representing. I got some strange looks every now then. I would forget what I was wearing, get a "look" and then look down and think oh yeah. Go figure. |

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA | Hi, Everyone,
Ovation stuff did sell big in some places. I always got a kick out of "The Ovation String Fling." I still have my Ovation "muscle shirt" from the mid 80's when the music store I worked in was an Ovation dealer. Unfortunately, I now have no muscles, at age 60. Fortunately, it no longer fits me, so I can't wear it public anyway?! Thank You, Jesus, for small mercies.
