Does anyone know the part number or where any can be found?

Something like what is on my 1617 ALE to replace the pearloid buttons on my Custom Elite?

Something like:http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Schaller-Style-Mini-Tuning-Key-Buttons-For-Gotoh-6-GOLD-/390736272383?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item5af9b25bff#ht_1710wt_778

Thanks in advance

Dan ... I think I have some. Does your CE have Pings or Schallers? I probably have a set for either one.

They have the Ovation logo, incuse on the face of the tuner. Not very good pics here, I'll take a better shot tonight.

I think Ping, Bob.

Nothing, but I think gold buttons would look striking on the RTD CE, like the ALE

And since I can't resist a little teaser pic:

Personally, I prefer the look of the pearloids. They pick up the color in the logo and the nut

I'd leave them alone, since the gold ones are on most everything else, but that's just me. I do like that ALE, though. I didn't realize they had Maple? two piece necks. I think it would look better with pearloid buttons, though. Teehee.

Someone will probably swap their gold ones for your pearloid ones if you put that offer forward.

If anyone's parting with their pearloid buttons for Ping, just let me know. I've been looking for them for ages. If anyone wants to swap, I have chrome ones.

I've changed my mind and am going to stick with the stockers...

They do look nice, as-is

BTW, when removing the buttons, I noticed that if tension is still on string, you can't get the threads to engage until you loosen string, which allows the back button (on opposite face of the spindle) seat fully back into the gears.
Is this normal? I've never done it before.

I think that's normal, if what you're describing is the same thing I experienced recently. I couldn't keep a string in tune and thought the gears were stripped, but found out the button was loose. With the tension off the string, I was able to push things back into place and tighten the button back down. Works fine, now.
