Not to offend anyone especially Al but it is a joke and I thought it was kinda funny. But good taste has never been my strong suit.

Heck, I think that was my first offer to Mr. Big! Followed of course with a big check and a bigger grin.

I am open to creative options as usual but I'm not in a position of desparation. At least until the next Government shutdown in January...

I did get to play that one for a few moments back in 2011.

You realize that you will miss it once it is gone.
(speaking from experience of selling things that I shouldn't have...)

Hiya, Webster!

Persently I'm visiting with a Martin OM-42, My Ovation Elite 1537-5 and my Admas 1680 ... I need another guitar like I need ... well ... never mind ...   It's been a helluva past few months, and it is amazing that I've been playing at all.  Woodrow, yer killin' me.

Willa

Not exactly sure why my obvious sense of humor managed to draw some wrath? Uptight people? I don't know. My comment implied that this is a stunning instrument and that regretfully I have no chance of buying it right now. I do own over 17 nice Ovations and I believe I'm a good guy. Sorry if I offended anyone.

I was ok with the comment Bill. But I'm on the Left Coast and we tend to be a little more relaxed...

Thanks MW. I must admit I was shocked when I saw the response. I have read numerous attempts at humor on this site. Heck, it's a great entertaining site

No worries golfman! Sometimes the friendly sarcasm font doesn't code well into html. I knew what you meant too.

Some of those special runs were truly fantastic guitars and this one definitely was. A beauty for sure. The new holder should be very impressed. Glad it's staying close to the family!

Are you sure about that?

Old Thread: "O" Tannenbaum...not the song, just a guitar.

It's still with me and still gets its play time in the rotation.

Although, like MWoody, I've been thinking about downsizing. I just don't play as much as I used to.

Here it is the day it arrived, 12/21/2013.

I'm downsizing because I overdid the upsizing! My climate controlled cabinet is too full. In retirement I am playing more than ever, and blessed with an abundance of top-tier instruments!

Last night we played an impromptu family show. Me and two of the grandkids. The 8 yr old sang "Shallow", and also accompanied other songs on kazoo. The 6 yr old added cowbell.

I highly endorse retiring early.

Is this not the same guitar?

Edit: I was unable to upload the photo of the inside hand-written label.

I've determined where I went wrong in believing this guitar is now in Boston. One like it, is now in Boston. I thought the writing on the label (Dover Wells? - can't completely make it out) meant it was built for a particular consumer, but obviously not as it is written on more than one. The grain is definitely different from the guitar I posted, so I stand corrected!
