| ***NEW OLD STOCK*** 1972 Ovation Breadwinner Model 1251-6 Serial E00437 with Original Case, Cord, Warranty Card, Display Instruction Card and factory TYPED "Preliminary Owner's Guide" that Ovation sent out while the Ovation Solid Body Owner's Manual was still out for printing! I have a couple plastic store posters I will throw in as well. I picked this up from a local music store that closed down after 90 years of business, found this along with a 1970 Viper in the back! | Thanks for the kind words! There was some crazy funds for sure! A 55 Les Paul Special, 76 Les Paul Artisan, brand new 79 strat, 8 string hagstrom basses... I was like a kid in a candy shop!!!! |

| Hi Wayne, it was is rough shape ...the bones were good, but because it had a Brazilian fretboard and the only guy I myself would be comfortable doing a period correct refinish lives in the states and the huge pain it is to get CITES permits to ensure it didn't get seized at the boarder I sold it to a fellow MLP member who is going to refinish it himself... But for roughly the $200 bucks I had into it ....it was still a bargain!

| Hi Puppetman, there was some pretty heavy lacquer checking which is fine, but it had been sitting for the last 30 years I'm sure with a dingy old rotten set of strings at full tension so the relief is ridiculous and the corrosion on the frets made it unplayable... I taped the board, and used ultra fine steel wool and it turned out great, and I HIGHLY recommend Virtuoso Premium Cleaner and Premium Polish... I use it on ALL of my guitars regularly... It wa recommended to me by Gruhn... You CAN spit shine a turd with that stuff too! It's black magic in a bottle.... Nothing else touches it!! It looks like a million bucks, but the neck is still a concern... I backed the truss nut off of it all the way and am letting it sit for a while and seeing it wood memory will bring it back... It is helping a bit, it's slowly returning... the serial on the Eclipse is H041... I sold it to one of the drummers I play with, the Viper serial is E7733. The Eclipse and Breadwinner above were fine when I found them, but the Viper must have been stored in a place where there was hot and cold cycles to cause the buildup on the frets... I'll see if I can find a before and after shot!! |

| Here's the fretboard corrosion on the Viper that I cured... I swear by steel wool! I do it to all my gigging guitars each spring and fall... Keeps them playing like glass!!!

| Mind blowing! Goes to show, don't judge a book by it's cover! I was determined to rescue the Viper from the heap!!! They're great sounding guitars... They were just to advanced and blew over most people's heads at the time....
Wow.... I am getting off topic :-0 ... Back to brass tacks.... Someone scoop this Breadwinner up! ;-) all kidding aside I would prefer it to go to someone who will truly appreciate what it represents and how good it actually is! |

They probably sound the same a the day they shipped too! I left a set of flatwounds on an archtop for about 6 years, I swear I never heard any change!
Those are some seriously great guitars you picked up! I hope some one here grabs them.
It's funny and sad, but a few years back we had a much more enthusiastic membership who would have snapped these up in a heartbeat! Even the rare birds are a much harder sell than they used to be.

| Just the Breadwinner is for sale, I sold the Eclipse before I even got home from where I picked it up, and if I can correct the Viper relief I'll keep it, I dig the tele/LP Jr. Vibe... And I'm a sucker for anything with a cream aged lacquer checked body an maple neck! |
