I recently received the third guitar from Dr. Jonathan Conant, the builder I met through dwgpreacher. He has been building guitars for over thirty years and is a retired college professor as well. I took over marketing and selling his guitars for him as he despises the selling process. By being self employed in the sign business for 40 years I have a handle on selling he appreciates.

This is a size 0 repro of the Martins of the 1930's, more commonly known as "blues boxes". This is a lively, responsive, and highly resonant twelve fretter slothead with a select sitka top and shimmery African mahogany back and sides. It has bloodwood binding. Dr.Conant's guitars are finished with a hand rubbed polymerized oil finish that cures hard and the thin finish lets the wood vibrate and then some, I can't believe the volume this thing has. Here is a clip of me playing it: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10200669613171023 and here is a photo album of it: http://s1154.photobucket.com/user/davekell1/library/size0

In the three weeks I've had this, my 9 month old Conant OM has become an orphan. I have become a major fan of 12 fretters too and understand all the praise these things get. This guitar practically begs to be played fingerstyle. SInce I have sold three guitars for him this year, I got a massive discount on this one for myself I will pass on to you with a price of $600 for a pro quality luthier guitar.

This would also be an excellent guitar to get one of your kids learning on and let them play it in for you! The action is incredibly low with no buzzes and has very adequate break angle at the saddle, which is bone. I'm selling it to snag my next O and also because Dr. Conant has another size 0 in the pipeline with a bearclaw top. The only "flaw" on it is some very minor pitting in the wood on the back. It's my understanding builders fill these with wood filler before applying a gloss spray finish. Dr. Conant obviously didn't think it was that serious and you have to look for it to see it. I require a certified check and an email acknowledging there can be no returns accepted. I will be spending the money as soon as it gets here and living on a disability income means I couldn't refund the purchase price. I will split the shipping cost with UPS packing it so they can't deny an ins claim should that need arise. There is no hard case but a nice green gig bag.
