Well, you can ridicule the guy if you like but I think he's just trying to pass on a little of his knowledge with the best of intentions. If someone gets a little benefit, that's fine. We didn't all come out of the womb playing Ovations. If you don't like it and it offends, there's no need to go searching youtube for it. I remember well what it was like to learn, I was lucky, I came from a musical family. Some people aren't as fortunate.
