Location: Phoenix AZ | I have that accessory and as goofy as it sounds, it really DOES work. You can laugh and joke about it all you want but this guy is on to something ...
By the way, the photos make it look like it is black metal. It's not. It's high impact plastic. Very stiff but not brittle. Actually it's lind of like the same plastic the ovation bowls are made out of!
I've only tried it on one guitar. It went on my FD14 and it's been on there ever since. I really do like it. It accomplishes the same benfit as the contour bowl.
One issue about leaving it on the guitar full time is that the guitar will not fit in the Ovation case. That's not a problem with my FD14 because I keep it in a nice Gieb case.
