Just wondering how a cedar top sounds compared to a spruce top Thinking of buying a cedar top,Is CEDAR softer than say spruce?? Thanks!!!! The highs lose some of their bite but across the frequency spectrum, it is a more even sound. Cedar tops are usually cut a little thicker and braced a little thinner than spruce so I'd recommend doing a side by side comparison and judging for yourself.
