| Hi all-
I own an 1861 (I *think*, I am at work now and the guitar's at home) Standard Balladeer, Cadillac Green, that I bought new about 14 years or so ago. I love it to death.
However.... it's recently developed an issue with the preamp. I hadn't played the guitar in several months, as I'd been busy with life. It worked perfectly before, and now when I plug it in to play it works fine, UNTIL I try to use the EQ in the preamp.
As long as the EQ is switched off (the button on the OP-24+ is up) it's fine, but when I try to cut the EQ in (push the button down) the entire preamp turns off or cuts out, and no more signal goes to the amp.
Anyone have any ideas for me?

Location: Sydney, Australia | Dodgy switch/loose wire/broken solder. You can open up those preamps, but its a bit of a PITA, so you'd want to be moderately handy. The main trick is the faceplate is glued down over the screw heads. | |

That was my guess as well. I was planning on trying to pull the preamp and see if it was just a bad switch contact or something, but I need to find detailed instructions on pulling it.

Well that's fun. So I have to lift the sticker / plate with the graphics on it off and then the screws are there? Nice.
Al from Lost Art Vintage said he could source me a new one, but I think I may try to see if I can finagle the one I have before I spend the money. | |

Location: Sydney, Australia | Yeah, and you want it in good condition so you can glue it back on afterwards.
Also, if it has a volume knob, (rather than a slider) that is held on with a tiny Allen key.
