Well it's been just over a year since I've got my Custom Balladeer back from the mothership. Although I've tried to get it setup to my liking, I just can't seem to get it right. I've done the shim thing and tweaked the trussrod but I'm thinking I've got a high fret or two which is the main grief instigator and beyond my skill set.

Several months after the CB came back, some retired GAS station guy posted something about a neat little Brazilian Rosewood Takamine and son of gun if one didn't end up at my place. It is an exceptional instrument but is in need of a setup also and so I've been searching for someone to setup both of these great guitars.

The Ef75J was taken back to the store where it was purchased, several months later for setup/checkup. Greatly disappointed by that experiance really put the brakes to just taking the guitar(s) to just anyone.

Thanks to Mike Markure, I think I have finally located someone worthy of working on these two great instruments. I dropped off the Custom Balladeer today and should have it back in about 2 weeks. I'll bring it home, access the work and determine if the EF75J will be worked on there.

I am very optomistic and excited with the thought of finally having both of my babies playing like they should.

Now if I can just get rid of the callous on my left index finger. Doctor figures this callous has a root under it similar to what happens with a corn or a wart. Strange and hurts like hell if I fret a string in just the right/wrong way.

So I look forward to guitars and finger being in great shape soon. It's been a trying couple of months of limited play and I've had enough of it.

Wow, this is the most I've put in one post in a long time. Feels good!

BTW Colt , I used something called " 2 -drop " , it`s made by a company called " SCHOLL " , I used a self -adhesive Felt ring ( allso made by same firm ) dripped 2 drops from the bottle in center , and some ( 2..??.. ) days later it came out , maybe ya can find it over there too , I am NOT a Physician , so Do Consult one first , or at least talk it over with a pharmacist... :)

Roughly 40 years of playing, off and on, and this is the first time this has happened. It SUCKS!

I'll look into the Scholls' stuff, thanks.

Well I could do that, but then I'd just have to get the actions re-highered. Too much hassle! Besides, I've put all these past years learning to suck as bad as I do, it would be such a waste.
