What did you think of the song back then and do you think any differently about it now? I still like to hear it AND I AM NOT A CANNIBAL, but then again I am a sicko.
SHOULD IT OF BEEN CENSORED AND TAKEN OFF THE AIR ?
I thought it was a good song back then and still now a days.
Here is an interesting link to it.GWB

Here are the lyrics, if anyone's interested. You get to listen to Melissa in the bargain:

Location: Cicero, NY | I remember that song very well. Two of the guys in the Buoys started a band named Dakota and toured through the Northeast for years during the 80's and early 90's. I saw them many times and even worked a handful of shows that they headlined. A really great band and one of the guys, Jerry Hzudlik (sp?), is still recording under the Dakota name. Don't know of they're still touring but if they came to town tomorrow I'd go to see them - very talented guys. |

| Sick or Classic?
Neither - crap is the word. IMHO of course. |

Location: Cicero, NY | No question. That was a terrible song. In almost every respect. Written and recorded with one thing in mind - publicity. Which, unfortunately, it accomplished. Didn't help the band at all which is probably why they changed their name and stopped recording Rupert Holmes tunes. They were, howerver, great guys and very talented musicians. Had a couple of regional hits as Dakota (anyone remember "If It Takes All Night" or "Crazy For Your Love"?), were working with some of the guys in Chicago (the band) to try to get re-signed and were opening for Queen (I believe) on one of their tours but by that time the ship had sailed. They rank up there with 805 as two of the best bands from the area. |
