I have owned a CC54idea for a couple of years which I find extremely playable. I have really got into Ovations as a result and despite never having played an Adamas I have bought good condition W597 CVT 4G made in late 1999 which is on it's way to me.
I mostly play unplugged. I would appreciate some feedback about this guitar, any good or bad points, if there are any.

Thanks

Marc

W597 is a quite nice guitar and you should notice it as a step up from the CC54 in terms of unplugged sound and overall fit, finish and quality. Good luck, and enjoy it.

I love my Coballt W-597. It's by far the best sounding of my guitars.

There are no bad points.

You will find that the 597 is in a much higher quality tone class than the cc. Almost harp-like. A single strum in any six-string chord will melt your mind.

Hopefully the glossy finish is in good shape. If not - pick scratchs can be buffed out with polish.

The guitar is lighter weight with the mid depth bowl. The CVT is so sensitive you can't rest your right-hand fingers on the top without changing the tone.

The CVT weave is just out there on display too... no mistaking that the 597 is special breed due to it's use of exotic materials.

The ebony fingerboard is an upgrade too.

String choice will take a while for you to figure out what you like.

You might want to check if the bolts holding the neck are tight - they are a hex-head bolt and easy to reach through the trap door.

Post a pic when you get it...

Carl-thanks for your post. Not sure what strings it comes with but I intend to fit D'addario EXP 56-13.
