Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | So I'm a glutton for punishment I guess, but I've gotten used to having an OFC Calendar on my wall. So let's get this ball rolling!
I need pictures! Believe it or not, I barely got enough last year to complete the project. I wasn't short on material per se, but some submissions needed to be in higher resolution. So send'em to me. Here are the basics: - The higher the resolution, the better.
- Take pictures from lots of angles and take them from various distances.
- Don't worry about formatting them. It's better if I can do that as I build the pages.
- If your picture doesn't get used, please don't take it personally. The honest truth is that space is limited and there is not much I can do about it.
- I NEED THEM BY AUGUST 1st! (But sooner is better.)
The contact email for this project is ofc-calendar@patchworkmcg.com. You can send all your pictures there. If they are too large, send them one or two at a time. Be sure to include your screen name so I can give credit where it's due without dropping any real, personal information.
Expect the calendar to be the same size as last year. I've only got rough ideas about the layout, but what's life without a little risk eh? We BARELY broke even last year, so I'm going to have to ask just a bit more for the cost. But at $17.50 shipped in the U. S., it's still a pretty good deal in my admittedly biased opinion. Just like last year, any "profit" will be fed to the OFC Donation button. DO NOT send payments yet! I'll let you know when. (Probably sometime in August though.)
Last year, we had an excellent variety of instruments; from vintage to recent, from custom to production. I think it did a good job of showing the breadth of ownership on this forum. Hopefully, 2014 will have just as broad a spectrum. Thank you everyone for your support of the Ovation Fan Club. See ya in the threads!

For those who are new, or missed the chance to get last year's calendar, here's a blast from the past to give you an idea of how they came out. I am certain that there are enough showoffs..er..members on this forum to provide plenty of interest and photos. So let's hear some chatter out there! |

Otherwise, keep doin' what you're doin'. The slight price increase isn't going to be a show stopper. |

I just sent a test email to the address. It seems to be working OK.
If you copy-pasted from the post above, DO NOT include the "period" at the end of the sentence by mistake. Also, be sure to use a hyphen, not an underscore, in ofc-calendar.

I did use your photos, but I can't post them here as that month is still to come. However, that doesn't mean I can't send you a copy. Check you e-mail.
BTW, I don't have any more 2013's, but some members bought several apiece, maybe you can manage to fish one out from one of them? |

I definitely need more pictures to complete this project.
I know all of you are incredibly bashful/humble/demure/etc., but please consider coming out of your shell just long enough to snap 5 or 6 good pictures and email them to me OK? |

Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | Since we are heading into a beautiful summer weekend, it seems timely to go fishing for more calendar submissions.
I presently have six months worth of photos and possibly another in the works, so unless you want a calendar that is fully half of "Patch's Guitars", please free up some time to show off!
FWIW, the photos submitted so far are fantastic! |

If that comment includes the pictures submitted by me, however, no one should have anything to fear. It does involve a bit more than the usual cell phone pics, but not much. Just watch what's in the background and wear clothes in case your reflection shows up in the guitar. Mowing your lawn first is optional.
If I get the hedge trimmed this weekend, I might send more.

From what I've seen already, you hired the world's greatest landscaper! |

For me, it would be a Sasquatch sighting.
He can't play, either. |

I'd be flattered if I thought you were talking about my yard, since I spent years doing all the landscaping myself. Now that it looks nice, it's time to move to a smaller house and start over. |

And I just wanted to quote the appropriate email address and instructions because it might be lost in such a long thread.
Time is running-out, and we will all need new calendars soon.

Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | Sorry Mark. I was out of town for a bit and the photos I've been getting pushed my storage limit over the top.
I've cleared some space, so give it another try.
FWIW everyone, it comes as no surprise that if I get enough hi-res photos in too short a time, I can't strip the server fast enough. So by all means, if anyone gets a "full mailbox" notification, please PM me and let me know.
Thanks for the submissions so far everyone! |

Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | Alright everyone! I am not officially taking orders yet as I still have to set up the account and the spreadsheets to track everything.
BUT.......
I think it is time to start thinking about how many you want to order. I will start an official "Place Your Orders" thread very soon and ask Miles to sticky it to the top so that it doesn't wander into oblivion.
There are some nifty little surprises mixed into the standard monthly fair. I think folks will be pleased.
In the meantime, for those who don't want to be bothered re-reading this entire thread; here's the copy-paste from my earlier post about the cost.
"We BARELY broke even last year, so I'm going to have to ask just a bit more for the cost. But at $17.50 shipped in the U. S., it's still a pretty good deal in my admittedly biased opinion. Thanks to everyone who submitted pictures. And thanks to John Budny for his hospitality when I came calling. |
